Dumbledore (all of them) look just as I thought.
Snape looks as I thought. Hermione was really different than I wanted her to look - but she has grown on me! |

Richard Harris was the perfect Dumbledore and I really hate the new one because in their attempt to make him look less like Gandalf, they totally messed up the silver beard and hair!!! hello??
As for the others, Harry and Hermione are ok, so are Snape, Hagrid, the Malfoys, Neville, the twins and McGonagall. Sirius, Ron and Lupin not soo much, but the low point is Fleur, she could´ve been way much prettier.

Harry - Fine
Ron - Funnier looking than I had imagined, but looks ok. Hermione - ok in first movie, got to be too pretty tho Dumblebore - Harris was just about spot on, Gambon was very disappointing Hagrid - Excellent Durlseys - Dudley not blonde or fat enough, parents are perfect McGonagal - Perfect Tom Riddle - Pleasantly surprised; good choice Fred and George - Too skinny and funny looking like Ron (thought they were supposed to be stocky like Charlie) Mr Weasley - Expected more flaming red hair Mrs. Weasley - Perfect Fudge - Not bad, coulda been more comical looking and shorter Fluer - Not attractive enough; shoulda picked some kind of model Cedric - Wood looks more like what I expected of Cedric. Krum - Ok, but I expected skinnier and more awkward looking Snape - Best casting choice ever! Malfoy - Good Lucius - Much better than I expected Seamus - Excellent Neville - good, but yeah, he's getting skinny Ginny - Not bad, expected a different color hair tho Tom the bartender - the first one was good, the hunchback one is totally wrong Cho - not attractive enough |

I think Maggie Smith and Robbie Coltrane looked exactly like Professor McGonagall and Hagrid. Richard Harris looked exactly like Dumbledore as well. Fred and George also looked like I thought they would look.

Snape, Dumbledore[Richard Harris], McGonnagall, Hagrid, and Lucius Malfoy all look exactly how I imagined them to be.
Barely any of the kids looked like how I thought they would've been, except for Ron, and a tad bit of Hermione. In the Goblet of Fire trailer, where she gets all pretty for the Yule Ball, that fits the description in the book... Michael Gambon's Dumbledore seems a tad ragged, not majestic enough. |

McGonagall was exactly like I pictured her.
Despite the fact that the book gives a description of Neville, I always ended up picturing him as "Jimmy" from that Ed Edd Eddy show...because his character reminded so much of Jimmy...with the whole prone to accidents thing...so despite the description, and the movie...I still picture Jimmy. haha. I'm weird that way. |

For me, Emma Watson is exactly as I pictured Hermione. Richard Harris was a great Dumbledore, but I'm not too fond of the new one. On the other hand, Gary Oldman is not how I pictured Sirius at all...

Just wanted to add that I think Harry is perfect, so is Snape, McGonagall, Hagrid, Draco, and Mrs. Weasley. Also, I don't know if anyone has mentioned him yet, but Alfie Enoch is pretty much exactly how I saw Dean Thomas, I hope they give him more lines and screen time.
And it's weird- I know that in the books Ron is the taller one, and his twin brothers are always mentioned to be stockier and shorter than him, but for some reason, in my head I still always think of the brothers as being taller (probably because they're older), so I like that the twins in the movie are taller, even though it's not canon. Oh, and Lucius Malfoy, of course! He's perfect. With those long flowing locks, he should be in some L'oreal commercial. ![]()

Who Do I Think?
Ron (Rupert Grint) looks exactly like I thought he would while I was reading the six Harry Potter books in the series. Red hair and brown eyes, it was kind of easy to imagine, but he turned up exactly how I thought it would be.

Definately not Pettigrew.
Fred and George were amazing. And Hagrid was very well too |

They are all pretty good replications, I think Snape was meant to be a little more sinister. Bonnie Wright has done an excelent job on nervous, shy Ginny; I want to see how she will be when her character develops a lot more.

I don't think Bonnie Wright will be up to the sarcastic comments Ginny makes in some of the new HP books. That's just my opinion.
*Does that count as a spoiler?* |

I think the first Dumbledore was done exactly as I'd imagined him, right down to the way he spoke. Ginny was done to how I'd suspected as well. Sirius and McGonagol were completely different, along with Hermione and Ron. Even Harry looked a bit different than how I'd suspected. Malfoy was similar to how I thought he'd be...and Neville was completely different. I'm not gonna go through all the characters, but those are just a few.

Professor Flitwick...perfect.
Hagrid...perfect (before they even did casting I was imagining Robbie Coltrane) Griphook the Goblin....perfect Draco Malfoy...I didn't think Tom Felton looked like Malfoy but his acting was dead on. Plus he's so hot. Lucius Malfoy..Jason Isaacs was perfect. The Weasley Twins..I think thye convey the characters well. They're funny, sweet actors. Dumbledore...I personally like Michael Gambon. I think his portrayal of Dumbledore was more what I imagined. He's more playful and fun. Richard Harris got across more the wise, old man aspect of Dumbledore. Richard Harris's makeup was better, though. In all, I like both of them. Peter Pettigrew..dude that guy looked like a rat. The only thing I'd say, though, was that he looked much older. Pettigrew should be lik 35/36 (maybe a bit older b/c of living like a rat). I thought Pettigrew looked like a grandpa. Buckbeak..amazing. Hedwig...better than I imagined. I didn't realize how beautiful snowy animals were. McGonagall..I was specifically thinking of Dame Maggie Smith, as well. As well, I definitely don't think Kenneth Branagh's makeup fit my imagination for Lockhart. I thought Lockhart had long, flowy hair. However, I think his acting was phenomenol. As well, I didn't imagine Trelawyny to look like Emma Thompson's makeup. But Emma does an amazing job. |

It's not so much that the characters in the movies were what I imagined as I read the book. It's more like as I saw each one come on screen, I was shouting (mentally of course), YES
The Trio ... perfect Snape ... perfect Lucius ... deliciously evil McGonnagal ... can't get any better Flitwick ... wonderful I could go on and on ... Arthur, Molly, Vernon, Petunia, Dudley ... all the Weasleys ... even Hedwig and Errol Richard Harris was also wonderful, but they made his costume way to heavy and cumbersome. Can you imagine him dressed like that trying to duel with LV? But his is the only costume I had any problem with and only for that reason. |

All hail Richard Harris!!!!!! What a man, what a loss.
Alan Rickman as Snape also came very, very close to my idea.
