Re: Snape's Point of View 2: Post-HBP PTSS version.

Thank you, subtle_science, for another jewel of a scene! You are never too long or too angsty for me, no! Your pieces are exactly the way they should be! (or as I would picture them, but I could never dream of presenting them the way you do!) And also for your kind words regarding my post, of course... I wasn't really angling for a compliment (well, perhaps a little ;-) but your praise means a lot to me!

LouisaB: you definitely qualify as a "real writer" on this thread and I am really looking forward to reading your upcoming contributions (I must confess I am a bit behind on your Remus Origins, but I will catch up shortly ;-)

By the way - I have decided to work on that curiously persistent Narcissa bit - entirely for my own sake, though! I would not dare anything that could jeopardise this precious thread, ever! But perhaps when I get it out of my system I can move on and try some Severus related POV myself... Haven't thought for a very long time that I would one day try my hand at writing fiction (which, actually, qualifies as one of my more serious chilhood dreams, though...)! What is this thread doing to me?

That's okay...Lupin is still catching up with Snape anyway. Just updated the Snape one this evening. Was going to work on the Spinner's End one but having problems at fanfiction.net where I also archive the Origins stories - stupid thing won't let me upload and my bit of extra free time today has gone away whilst trying (without any success) to sort that.

On a different note, I was wondering if anyone had done a new version of the Worst Memory scene since HBP. I am trying to recall one but can't remember if there has been one. Knowing as we do now that it was his own spell/hex that the Marauders used on Snape....might be an interesting piece to have a rewrite done of it. Any thoughts? Or if no one can direct me to the new versions, is anyone going to accept the challenge?

You can always do a search of the post and continue the thread but with your new ideas, if they haven't already been mentioned.

Subtle, once again another excellent piece - I have to say that you rule at the good old angst & hurt/care themes

Many thanks...I was a little hesitant to venture Snape's Meltdown.....I'm glad (relieved) you have liked it!

Morgan Emerald--What's this thread doing to you? Getting you addicted, that's what...

Re: Snape's Point of View 2: Post-HBP PTSS version.

I have only just discovered this thread. By the way I love the name. Been reading through the old posts and finally found the infamous Snape babysitting Harry story. Oh hilarity Well done everyone
Unfortunately I do not yet have the guts to post something

Brilliant subtle science
I really enjoyed that story about Snape fessing up to Dumbledore. It was very realistic. I too am a big fan of Snape having somewhat of a breakdown to Dumbledore.

Subtle Science - I was going to comment on your post tomorrow when I write the next installment of my Snape fic, but I simply cannot wait until I then to tell what I thought of it! And might I say Subtle, that it was really good. I especially loved the little sibling jibe Dumbledore gave about his brother being good at Potions if he'd been able to read. Poor Aberforth, I couldn't bear not to read!

See you all tomorrow with episode 13!

The thread's shorter--don't panic! I noticed we were getting near the 1000 mark, and so I went back and deleted the comments between some of the oldest fics. I'll go on trimming the thread from time to time, to prolong its life, just as I did with the original version. The forst page is now solid POVs, and about 80 comments have been removed...took about an hour.

Re: Snape's Point of View 2: Post-HBP PTSS version.

Quick comments - I'm just piping in again to say how good everyone's work has been recently - Subtle - I really love your last POV - I can really picture Snape as the kind who couldn't sit still for a minute waiting! Also, I love the way he doesn't have any idea what to say back to the Albus small talk. I'm a little surprised he didn't start to yell at Albus after the crying jag (before Albus told him he WOULD warn the Longbottoms and Potters), but obviously Albus had already realized he was being truthful and quickly told him he WOULD take care of things.

Personally, I think Snapes actually worried about James being killed too (I don't like the Snape loved Lily theory all that much). I really think their deaths might have been the first ones he would have felt 'personally' responsible for (based on JKRs answer to whether Snape can see thestrals - that he's SEEN so much as a Death Eater, instead of DONE so much). But as usual - your POV was spectacular!

Thanks so much everyone who posts their work here. I thoroughly enjoy it - wish I could write fiction! And Inkwolf - good to see YOUR 'face' again - would love to read something new from you!

Re: Snape's Point of View 2: Post-HBP PTSS version.

Thanks, Inkwolf, for doing all that! (Uh...I guess this is another comment that could be trimmed!...Erm.)

And thanks again for more kind reviews.

hwyla--I considered a shouting match, briefly...but went instead for a slow simmer, before Snape knows that Dumbledore tested him. And, even more, just a desire to get out and try something else, since Dumbledore wasn't going to be of use...Basically, I wanted a younger Snape who wasn't really thinking beyond the surface of events..........

AAGGggghhhhhh!!! Such a horrible cliffhanger I have never seen, Hermione Snape. *glares* Another wonderful post. Poor Hermione, she's right about the dreams down the drain, even if there were no law she'd be hard-pressed to find a job. I loved Snape talking to Ginny about her staying. *starts counting down the days til the next post*

Re: Snape's Point of View 2: Post-HBP PTSS version.

*Phew!* It has taken me ages to catch up with this thread. So many wonderful POVs lately, so many great ideas and skilful writers…
Intriguing stories Serpentine (I did like the use of a Mugglephone – too simple to be considered a way of communication in the first place!), Zgirnius (at last Snape's emotions before the Shrieking Shack Event in PoA are satisfyingly explained!) and Hermione_Snape (an exciting new twist to the HP character’s relations and adventures!)
Thestralgrin, your Mad-Lib style POV was really funny, and great job everyone involved! I also liked your poem very much Morgan_Emerald; pure feeling!

Subtle, I’m impressed by your courage in describing Snape’s total breakdown in front of Dumbledore; that’s so brave!! To me, that part is very special, the height of angst in the books, and it must be incredibly hard to describe that devastating feeling of his, taking the risk of the whole thing seeming pathetic or being underestimated. But you did it in such a perfectly believable way, I could easily see him! Now I can’t decide if I want JKR to include the scene in her last book, or if I prefer to imagine it this way…

Just a thought; I believe that when the Potters died, and the whole wizarding world started to shoot fireworks and celebrate Voldemort’s downfall, that was the moment when Snape finally chose to shut down his feelings…

Nyctalus--Thank you very much! I have been very hesitant for a very long time about even writing that scene--but it kept nagging....

Funny you should mention the celebrations over the fall of Voldemort...I've been mulling over that and what Snape's reaction would have been.....Hmm. For now, an idea to bring up on DevSev, perhaps.............

Where have all the normal posters in this thread been? It's been about 6 days since I had a good Snape story/chapter/scene to read. And yes I do read them all (but not from page 1 just the additions), usually without commenting because they are all so good, and I don't always have much time to be on the internet.

I did write something last night (another Lib), but it was most definitely not suitable for this board. Maybe another time I'll come up with something that is
