Re: Fanfiction at its Best
Hello Jenna,
I've just finished reading your editorial and I must say you have some strong arguments.. I used to spend entire days on fanfiction.net, but don’t do that anymore since I think the site has gone down in standard. As an administrator for a smaller fan fiction site, a site that values good grammar and characterization, I agree with you about finding a good fan fiction site to help you improve your skills. For me reviews have become such an addiction that it’s hard to stop writing fan fiction even though I haven’t touched my original work for a long time. I am going to stop after this story, mostly because I feel its time to move on from the world of fan fiction. I salute you for the use of fan fiction plots in your own works, if that works for you I'm all for it, but I feel that with all the books out there already my original work needs better ideas then the ones used for fan fiction. Good editorial, strong arguments, great work. Keep it up Cheers, Cat |

Jo could not stop fan-fiction if she wanted to. She has no control over other people. All she can do, and what she has done already, is stopped people from selling her characters and making a profit. You can share your own stories and disclaimers are put there out of respect, not because people think they will get in trouble if they don't. I have heard her say many timeson the matter of fan-fiction what he opinions are. She keeps saying that she is flattered that people are taking her story, readikng, and writing their own. It gets people interested in perhaps writing their own story. |
