no really, me too. I have like all their songs. They play in my area and my friends and i are hosting a benefit concert at our school, so we called them and asked them to play. They never called us back though...
my favorite song by them is 'The Human Hosepipe', referring to Harry's date with Cho.
A sample of their lyrics-
Cho Chang what have I done?
I don't care where you and Cedric were snogging
Cho Chang what have I done?
I just want to replay this Valentines Day.

Download it, its possibly the funniest thing EVER.

Different people have different tastes remember. They might not be the best musically, but they're fun and have catchy songs.

Anyways, my friend got their cds and is really enjoying them.

I kind of agree...a lot of people won't hear a bad word said about the films simply because it's about HP.
Then again, I think H and the Ps are just a bit of fun, and if people wanna buy into I guess that's their deal. Not my sort of thing, but a good laugh none the less.

Voldemort Can't Stop The Rock

Harry and the Potters actually played at my university last night!

Naturally, I went to the show instead of doing my French homework. It was completely worth it. Not only was their set awesome, but they gave us cookies and Shark Bites.

And if I were nicer, I might be able to resist the urge to brag, but... TOTALLY MET THE BAND AFTERWARDS AND IT WAS AWESOME HAHA!

oh, come on - it's just a bit of fun!! And you know, they may not be the most musically talented people ever, but they're really not that bad!!

Eat_ Slugs: Not fair, I want to see them, too!!

They're cool. I mean, it's not meant to be taken seriously. What's wrong with some light-hearted humour in music?

I'm really endeared by 'Dumbledore's Army'. It's cutesie.

I agree with this, but H&TP being a good laugh still doesn't keep me from being appalled that a band like this can become this well-known and publicized while dedicated, passionate, and original musicians from many wide genres of music very often go unnoticed in the mainstream.

Don't get me wrong, if you find this sort of thing fun then by all means... it just seems so twisted.

Haha, my thoughts exactly. I mean, it's kinda amusing and everything, listening to the lyrics. But musically, well they're pretty much horrible. He can't sing, and there's no melody. The **** people listen to these days.

Yeah, and that's MY opinion, and I'm entitled to it.

From that moment on, Hermione Granger became their friend. There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them.

But they're only well know by fans of Harry Potter, it's not as if many people that don't like Harry Potter like them or something.

I've never really seen why people get so worked up about something like this, people like what they like, who really cares?

Eat Slugs- Cool, must have been fun. Glad you had a good time.

Eat Slugs, I'm jealous! Those guys seem so awesome, like I really want to give them a hug. haha

But yeah, Harry and the Potters, their songs are darn catchy. I always have a incling to listen to Wrath of Hermione on repeat. I also love the Missing Arm of Viktor Krum. Those two are my favorite.

Re: Harry and the Potters

I heard them for the first time a while back. I think they are great. I love the fact that they are ordinary guys who wanted to something different. I don't understand why people are saying that they are no good? This is what I see...two guys who are big Potter fans and wanted to share there ideas with us. There is no need to be negative. We should be happy for them because they have the courage to stand in front of people and sing for them.

I understand that people have different opinions but lets not be rude about it.

Re: Harry and the Potters

I went to see them live last night, and it was so funny! They really aren't the most talented lyricists I've ever heard, but come on they are a lot of fun! The younger one made me laugh he was quite neurotic. My best friend and I bought 2 of their cd's and listened to them on the way home-many of them are just catchy and funny. Oh and we bought t-shirts, because they were cute! Mine says Save Ginny and has a stick Ginny and basilisk, and hers has Hedwig and says Harry and the Potters. We met them too, very nice guys! We got pictures, but haven't had them developed yet. They are worth checking out, if you don't take life too seriously and expect them to be musical geniuses!

I would hardly say they are "mainstream" as I had never heard of them before they put fliers around my school to promote their show. They seem to travel only in a small area around their hometown, it's not as if they are very popular all over the place. And well, they have a catch. Its not like they will be winning music awards any time soon. But there are a lot of passionate and original musicians and only one Harry Potter band, so that sort of thing is bound to happen.
