Re: Snape and Voldemort, The same person?
Well, let me try to bring it back to life, shall I?
No, I do not think that they're the same person. Why? Because Dumbledore has seen Voldemort in his youth and at at time, Snape probably wasn't even born.

Re: Snape and Voldemort, The same person?
Um, his scar hurt because Voldemort was head-sharing with Quirrell, who was sitting right there. Harry seeing Snape when it happened only helped Harry to think that Snape is no good. Revealing the plot point at that time... well, that wouldn't have been any fun, so Harry had to believe it was because of Snape... but it wasn't.

Re: Snape and Voldemort, The same person?
Very well said Marauder. His scar hurt because of Quirrell and Voldemort sharing a body

Re: Snape and Voldemort, The same person?
It's not possible. And I don't see how it adds anything to the plot; most of the non-DE characters in the book haven't been seen with Voldemort, largely because we don't see him that much.

Re: Snape and Voldemort, The same person?
I don't think they are the same person because in the first book and movie when he looked at snape his scar did hurt but I think it was because professor Quille i can't spell his name but the guy with the purple hat was sitting next to snape when harry looked at him and voldermort was on the back of the proffesors head and the proffesors head was facing harry when he look ed thats what i think...... anybody else with another reason???????¿¿¿¿¿¿¿

They're not the same person. It hurt because he was looking at Voldemort through the turban.

Re: Snape and Voldemort, The same person?
I supose this is possible but it is unlikely firstly if Snape was bad then Voldemort wouldn't need to change into him as Snape could do it all by himself. However this theory presents some interesting posibilities and could answer some questions, for example why Snape didn't go to the Department of Mysteries or didn't apparate to Voldemorts side in GoF (as this theory would cancel out the not wanting to blow his cover excuse). It would also explaine Voldemorts absence in book 6.

Re: Snape and Voldemort, The same person?
Interesting theory but I don't believe it's true. There would have been countless times that Harry would have been vulnerable to Snape and nothing was done.

Re: Snape and Voldemort, The same person?
Maybe the scar hurt because Snape was Legilimencing at Harry, whereby Horcrux-Voldemort was dimly sensing Snape (a DE who's left forever, that's a headache).

Re: Snape and Voldemort, The same person?
I thought his scar hurt that time because Quirrel was facing away from him, therefore Voldemort would be facing him. And I like the theory, it’s good, but doesn’t it seem a little… Psycho? Not to call you Psycho but, you know what I mean, like… Norman Bates/Mother Psycho?

Re: Snape and Voldemort, The same person?
I don't believe my own theory on this! Just playing devil's advocate. I don't like the "x person is really y" sort of theory. Someone more mathematically inclined could do a minimum-number-of-characters calculation and write a Reduced Harry Potter Series to be played by a cast of max. 7 persons perhaps!

Re: Snape and Voldemort, The same person?
I have to admit that the idea of Snape being Voldemort is quite interesting, but I find myself struggling to find evidence to support it. I mean, there could be indirect evidence in the fact that we never see Voldemort and Snape in the same scene, or have yet to anyway. I am sure that from a Bellatrix's standpoint that if she did not see Snape and Voldemort together at least once that she herself would raise questions. This idea, although interesting, doesn't really support the idea either way, for me anyway.

Re: Snape and Voldemort, The same person?
Okay, I like your theory and all, but you havve to think of the ending "battle" in book 6...
"No!" roared Snape's voice, and the pain stopped as suddenly as it had started; Harry lay curled on the dark grass, clutching his wand and panting; somewhere overhead Snape was shouting, "Have you forgotten our orders? Potter belongs to the Dark Lord-we are to leave him! Go! Go!" |

Re: Snape and Voldemort, The same person?
Maybe not. its way different. Snape has his own perceptions and i think Voldemort would have chosen a better plan that that.
