Good Day Everyone,

I'm sorry to say that CoS Forums is going to shut down in the Summer, sometime around July. This isn't an early April Fools joke either.

The Forums have become quite expensive to run and manage. There's a lot (LOT) less traffic coming to the site these days as Harry Potter becomes less of a topical debate for people.

I held on for a while after the last film, wondering whether JK would announce anything surprising, but I find that even if she did it wouldn't serve to help the diminishing numbers on the site or my bank balance!

Myself, I've been absent a lot more in the past year as personal issues have taken over and I've had to work longer hours, to earn more money to keep the forums going as well as pay for things like rent, utilities and god knows what else.

Some of you will be sad and I'm sure others will be happy. I'm not doing this lightly and I could have closed the site last year but held off. I know this may upset some of you who've come to see this place as a haven with friends and I'm very sorry it has to go but I've kept this place going with money out of my own pocket for 10 years now and it's no longer financially viable to do so. Please understand that this is not an easy decision!

Some of you may wish to offer to help, to donate or even take on the site. Whilst I would listen to any suggestions, I will not accept donations as this would be unsustainable in the long-term. If you wanted to take on CoS, be aware that you would need to find $200 per month and to be honest with you all I'm not sure I'm prepared to let the site be taken over by anyone. I've created a thread for comments. The other staff know only as much as the above. There is no Plan B as far as they are concerned, so do not pester them for answers to questions. If they do not know, they are being totally honest.

Many thanks to everyone who for the last 10+ years have worked in one way or another on the site. All the staff, past and present who gave their time and energy to making the community work. Every single person gave their time for free and were never paid for their efforts. It was a labor of love for all.
Many thanks to the members, those who came & went and dared to stay. Every single one of you who contributed to the site, to the discussions and events. You were the ones who made the site what it became, from the all the book releases to the heated, sometimes famous debates about all sorts of topics. You made CoS what it was. So thank you.

The "Ron" statue or whatever it is they had for the underwater scene in GoF.

I'd want a full set of uniform as well.

Wow, so many cool things...let's see:

Harry's Firebolt...heck yes, that would rock!
Gryffondor's Sword from Chamber of Secrets- I love swords
The Mirror of Erised- awesome...
Some sweet robes- so I could wear them for Halloween :-D
and Ron...so I could take him home w/ me!

I dunno what I'd trade. Something I really liked, I guess. Can't think of what, I don't have any "prized posessions" parsay.

Godric Gryffindor's sword.
As for real magical items, the invisibility cloak and the Firebolt. But I suppose a wand would be more practical.
And how would I get all these things? Well...seduce Daniel Radcliffe, then bewitch him and persuade him to steal them for me...okay, okay, I'm just kidding!

The triwizard cup- I love how it's all blue and glowing inside.
The golden egg- Again with the glowing inside thing, it's so shiny and pretty. Of course, I'd want the version with the "mute" button!
The invisibility cloak- awesome for pranks, and for those embarassing moments when you just want to disappear!
How about half the inventory of Honeydukes, can I have that?

Well, I know a few things I'd want:

the robes
a wand
if my back yard was gigantic, I'd want that maze, it's freaking sweet.
the goblet, most definately.
quidditch uniforms
and most likely other things, that aren't coming to me.

If I was rich, I'd probably pay money for these things.

I really can't decide on just one prop I'd like to own. I'd like Hermione's time turner, school robes, and a wand, the Weasely's clock and quidditch balls.

2) I'll stowaway on a ship, and walk to Leavesden Studios once the ship gets to England. Then I'll pretend to come from a charity and ask if I could have the broom for a charity auction. If that doesn't work, I'll sweet-talk and bribe the props people.

-a giant chess piece, preferably a knight, and preferably the one Ron was on
-the Ford Anglia...even though I can't drive....its still cool!
-One of the beds! they are sooo pretty! preferably Ron's
-the time turner..looks like the ultimate accessory
-Parvati's earrings at the Yule Ball..so nice
-a set of school robes! I would wear them !
-the Mirror of Erised! It would be awesome!

1) Which prop would you love to own?

Tricky question...actually, not that hard once I think about it. I'd like to have Fawkes, but only if he was a real phoenix. In terms of real props I think I'd like either one of the instruments in Dumbledore's office or one of his books.

Aw, just one? I would love to have Harry's Firebolt or even just his wand would be cool. Oooh, and the Goblet of Fire. The Triwizard Cup, Gryffindor's sword and the Ford Anglia would be nice too. I'd kill for a full set of Hogwarts robes...that would be awesome. Meh, I can't pick one.

Well actually i do already have most of the wands. Replica's of the one's from the movies that is.

I got Harry's, Hermione's, Ron's, Draco's, Snape's, Dumbledore's, and Voldemorts.

I also have Lucius Malfoy's Cane/Wand on order and have an eye on the time turner aswell.

BUT!

I would really like to get a Nimbus 2001.

And really, if possible, anything Alan Rickman comes in contact with!
