Closed Thread Related:

Question: Why was my introduction thread closed?
Answer: CoS only permits one thread to introductions, which can be located in the Great Hall forum. It is a sticky thread so you shouldn't miss it!

Question: Why can't I see a thread I recently created?
Answer: The thread may have been closed/moved/merged/deleted depending on the content. It is important to do a search before you post your thread just to make sure your topic has not been discussed already. Please note that The Department of International Magical Cooperation operates a Moderation Queue, which means your thread goes into a waiting list for approval by a member of staff.

Question: Why are certain threads closed?
Answer: Violation of our Forum Rules can result in threads being closed. Refer also to this link on duplicate threads.

Question: How long before a closed thread is removed from public view?
Answer: We tend to delete as quickly as possible, usually within 24 hours

Question: Why can't I have an avatar?
Answer: This is a privilege reserved for Hogsmeade members only. To become a Hogsmeade member, follow the guidelines in question.

Question: Why was the picture in my signature deleted?
Answer: Common causes are that you either had more than one picture, or your picture was larger than 300 x 300 pixles. However our rules state other instances of removal, as well as our signature policy.

Question: What's the difference between certain name colours on the marauders map?
Answer:

• Italicized means - Hogsmeade Member
• Italicized Blue means - Auror or Auror Moderator
• Bold Blue means - Unspeakable
• Bold, Italicized Red means - Administrator

Question: What are the stars by peoples' user names?
Answer: They indicate the number of years you've been a member on CoS forums.

The format is:

365 days =
730 days =
1000 days = At 1000 days the stars turn pink.
1095 days =
1460 days =
1825 days =
2000 days = At 2000 days the stars turn green.
2190 days =
2555 days =
2920 days =
