Can Harry still use Dumbledore's Pensieve?

No spoilers are allowed in these areas. Please make sure you've read our Deathly Hallows Conduct Notice!

Well , Dumbledore's dead now so all his thought and memories which were present in the pensieve gone ? and if not than is it possible for Harry to take it with him to get more information ?

No, given that most of the memories Harry watches in HBP are from dead people (and elves)

I don't think they will have. Even though they're his memories he pulled them out and stored them away so I think they'll probably still be there. Besides, if Harry doesn't return to school he'll probably visit and he'll need to learn some more stuff. I bet there's something really crucial in there.

I dont think so because when DD was describing the pensieve, he said that its a place to store your memories so its almost like a jewelry box, when a person dies their jewelry box doesnt disappear...I think that DD knew that because he kept putting his memories and thoughts in it so when he did "die" harry could go back and look at everything he hadnt looked at before, and maybe it will hold the key on how to defeat voldemort once and for all.

I agree, person's possessions don't disappear after they die so Dumbledore's pensieve won't. I can also see Harry looking at many more of Dumbledore's memories in the 7th book.

I think that they are still there, but wow i never thought of using the pensieve to learn about Dumbledore...if Dumbledore knew he was going to did (like i believe) then maybe he stored a lot of helpful memories in the pensieve for Harry...wow good theory...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they'll be there as well.I think Harry might just take them with him, instead of having to go to Hogwarts, because I see him as being a sort of outlaw, leaving Hogwarts as a renegade and all.

I was actually betting on Dumbledore leaving Harry a thought or a memory in his will explaining what happenend in HBP and possibly giving him a clue about the horcruxes.

I was just wondering though, does Harry know how to get out of the pensieve? Every time we've seen him, he's always been lifted out by someone else.

why wouldn't he be able to? i think that it will play a huge role in the upcoming book, to look back on all of Dumbledores memory's, even if dumbledore is dead he will be able to help Harry loads, in his *****ive and his portrait

I was just wondering that myself. He would just be roaming around in Dumbledore's memories until someone showed up to grab his arm and rescue him! Maybe they can read up on how to use a pensieve in the library. Ron and Hermione should join him in the pensieve. Using all their points of view would surely be helpful.
I am hoping that Dumbledore left lots of memories there for Harry to see. Possibly one on why he trusted Snape, and one with him talking with Snape (the one Hagrid heard part of). I look forward to parusing Dumbledore's memories with Harry and Company.

This is an interesting thought, one which I hadn't considered. I am pretty sure he would be able to use it to help himself find the horcruxes.

What if Dumbledore left the memory of his defeat of Grinwald in there for Harry as something he can do to defeat Voldemort? I like this theory of Harry using the pensieve in this manner

on a diffrent but related piont i fiugured out how to destroy a horocux adn destroy voldy if you read 0otp and remember the battle between dumby and voldy u remebr voldy laughed at dumby when he used a blue spell instead of a killing curse wll that blue spell was a spell version of the dementors kiss. That will suck the soul right out of the thing or person. Possibly an invention of voldy?

I wonder what kinds of memories Harry will find there without having Dumbledore around to guide him. How does one navigate a pensieve anyway?

I'm sure that Harry will have no problem accessing it, and thinking about it, I expect it to play a large role in book 7.

I think Harry will be able to use thr pensieve. In the interview with JKR she says the pensieve shows the facts rather than someones percepton. That is the magic of the pensieve and if the pensieve shows facts I think they will still exsist even when DD is dead.
