Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"
"... and since he'd saved the wizarding world by defeating He Who Must Not Be Named, wizards would always remember the tale of Harry Potter and his scar."
Or something along those lines. The scar can't disappear, Dumbledore himself said Harry have it for all his life. I think it won't go away even if Harry kills Voldemort, otherwise he would have said.

Maybe a few years after his defeat of Voldy, Harry reflects upon how the scar doesn't hurt anymore...

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"
I don't think it will be this but it's still fun to guess....
Hermione and Ron both came running torwards him, looking shocked and terrefied. 'Harry, what -', she stopped abruptly, spotting Voldemorts dead body lying sprawled on the ground. They both stared open mouthed at the body then Ron turned around and looked at Harry. 'Did you -?' 'Yeah,' Harry said rubbing his forehead. Ron was still staring at him in awe, but Harry suddenly relised he was no longer looking itno his eyes. They were fixed on his forehead, and his mouth was slightly open. 'What?' Harry said, confused at Ron expression. Hermione turned around, looked at Ron then folllowed his eyes. She let out a gasp. 'What?' said Harry more insistantly. Their expressions were slightly unnerving. 'It's gone,' Hermione said through her hands. 'What's gone?' 'Your scar.' NO WAY!!! But it was still fun to write it ![]()

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"
I don't think the last sentence would be related to the scar being gone, missing...because I don't think in 1 breath, he kills voldemort, and in the next breath the story is over.
I think V is finished towards the end, but the story keeps going... You can't just finish it off with V being killed...the end... I think maybe the last 4 or 5 chapters will be very intense.... and I think that's when V is finished off... after the Death Eaters are either killed, or arrested... the chapters after that, will be used to wind us down some... to prepare us for the end. I think have read somewhere (don't remember where because it's been a while), that JK already wrote the last paragraph of the last book... and that's how she can tell us what the last word is. She knows how it's going to end...just wants to tease us a little and let our imaginations run wild until the book is finally released.

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"
Here's my version:
Harry walked steadily down the rickety stairs of his cozy three-bedroom house, knowing that Ron and Hermione would most likely be there with their new twins, Remus and Sirius. The pair rarely slept, and Harry knew he'd be lectured by Hermione if he woke them up again. In fact, he thought he might get a talking-to from Ron as well. Harry was beginnign to wonder whether a bit of Hermione had rubbed off on his best friend, but he was happy for the coupel just the same. However, when he entered the lounge, the only person their was his lovely wife. She was curled up on their loveseat, taking a well-deserved rest. Harry did not want to disturb his sleeping spouse, so he settled for just gazing down at her. He should have known that his gaze would wake her, though. Ginny looked up slowly and smiled immediately once she saw who had disturbed her nap. "Harry," she said, in a mock no-nonsense voice, in a way that was clearly made to mock Hermione, "you know better than disturb someone while they're sleeping." Her large grin told Harry that she was reminding him of his last scolding from his best friend's wife, and he chuckled. He then plopped himself by her feet and placed his hand gently on her rounded stomach. Ginny giggled. "What do you think ours is going to be like?" she asked, and Harry shrugged, not knowing the answer. He reached out his hand and brushed some stray hair out of Ginny's face, but she quickly batted it away. "Ouch, what did you do that for?" Harry asked accusingly, but he did not raise his voice. He didn't want to shout around his prgenant wife. "Stop pampering me," Ginny demanded, and sat up from her lounging position on the red cushions. She instantaneously leaned against Harry, who wrapped his arm around her shoulders. Ginny looked across the room, and Harry followed her gaze. She was staring into a mirror, a quite familiar mirror that had helped Harry so many years ago defeat Voldemort for the second time. It had been the first to show him the scene around him, though in a much different way. "Do you think she'll have my hair?" Ginny asked, looking inquisitively at her husband. He shook his head. "She's a Potter, not a Weasley, Ginny." "You never know." Ginny said, shrugging. There was silence for a moment, and then she said "I hope she has your eyes, though." Harry just raised his eyebrows at her, but she shrugged. "What? They're pretty - one of the first things that made me fall for you." Harry, at this comment, promptly leaned down to stop her from talking about the time when he did not return her affections for him - he always thought he had wasted that time without her. While the two were lost in each other, Hermione and Ron stumbled into the room, each with a small baby boy in their arms. They paused, staring at the scene that they knew quite well by now. The two still loved each other as much as they had during their first kiss, and their love grew each day. In fact, looking at the red-headed girl and green-eyed boy kiss, they were reminded of that first kiss. There was not much of a difference in their appearance, just one, really, and it was in Harry. He still had his ruffled, hair, knobbly knees, and round glasses, but he had lost that one thing that used to give him such pride in his appearance - his scar." Okay, a bit longer than I expected it to be, but I like it nonetheless...

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"
I don't want Harry to lose the scar in the end. It's like a symbol for the entire series. If you take away the scar you take away part of the story.

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"
At last the final battle was over, Voldemort lay dead. Harry finally felt a huge weight had been lifted, he managed to defeat Voldcemort and save his friends, who were still locked in one of the Hogwarts dungeons. Harry and Snape knew of course, that Hagrid and the D.A. members would figure out what they were going to do. The only way to keep them all safe and out of the way, was to lure them down to the dungeons on a false trap. Harry knew when he let them out he was going to have to listen to Ron and Hermione complain about how they could've helped.
Harry and Snape turned to look at Voldemorts body before going into the castle and thought how ironic the twist of fate can be. Voldemort lay in the exact place where Dumbledore had died one year before. Snape had a twisted grin on his face as he stared at Voldemort. It really was a brillant idea to use the same scenerio. We'll have to thank Draco and Dumbledore for their help Harry. Yeh, said Harry, but it's going to be hard to thank Draco for anything. Snape went to the owlery to inform Dumbledore and Draco that it was safe now to change out of their animagus forms, everything had went as planned. Harry went down to let his friends out of the dungeon. As expected, Hermione and Ron did their best to make Harry feel bad about locking them up, but it didn't work. He felt to relieved that the charm, which Snape and he cast to protect them had worked. All Harry could do now was tell them all what had happened. Ginny came to him wrapping her arms around his neck so tightly that he couldn't breathe. One simple kiss from her and he knew he'd made the right choice. As they walked back to their dormitories Harry was the happiest he had ever been. Hogwarts was safe, Dumbledore and his friends were all alive. He'd made it through another school year and this time no one had died, unless you count Voldemort, which Harry didn't. Harry glanced at his reflection in one of the schools portraits and somehow he looked older. He took a moment to reflect on all that had happened to him since he received his letter to attend this majestic school. The losses came to his mind first and then the happiest times. The people and friends who would now make up his new family. Ron and Hermione were secretly engaged. He and Ginny would marry as soon as Ginny graduated. The rest of his closest friends all had their futures mapped out too. To no ones surprise, Neville would be the new Herbology teacher next year. Harry never told anyone that Neville could have been "The Chosen One", somehow it didn't matter. It seemed to Harry that it was meant to be him. He looked down at his wand hand, still smarting from the battle with Voldemort. Harry didn't notice it before that the burn was in the exact place as the Death Eaters mark. Unusual, though the power of the wands connecting again made the burn in the shape of a phoinex. Out of no where Fawkes appeared and sat near Harry looking at the new mark. Harry noticed that the pearly healing tears where starting to fill in Fawkes eyes. He knew Fawkes was going to heal him as he'd done before. This time Harry stopped him. Fawkes it's ok, it hurt's but I'll be alright. I want to keep this scar.

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"
It had been years since the fall of Lord Voldemort. That day, which saw the end of the greatest dark wizard who had ever lived, would always be remembered by those who had suffered and experianced loss at those evil hands, as the great day of reckoning. The day that brought hope back to a broken world. And like all great tales, the true story of what transpired on that summer's night would eventually fade, giving way to legand and myth. Yet for those who stood and fought beside the Heroic Harry Potter, the pain of loosing their fellow student, former pupil, best friend, companion, and leader, would burn deeper and last longer than any scar.
