Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

How about:

(Voldemort tap dances and sings on Broadway to make money now that his evil lord gig has fallen through....)

"Baby, you can drive my car -
you know I'm gonna leave a scar...."

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

Yes... The last word of book 7 should be scar. It could be something like:

"Staring into the cracked mirrior, Harry longed for the one thing that caused him grief turmoil, and darkness all his life. The one thing that had defeated all evil, and identified him for who he really was. His lightning shaped scar."

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

I really like the idea that somebody posted on here that suggests that Harry's child could have a faint scar shape on their forehead too...i'm not sure it's genetic but that would be cute! Also I really like the idea of his scar being erased once Voldemort is vanquished! I also like the idea that everybody in the wizarding world will have a metaphorical scar after all they've been through with Voldemort.

Actually I like all the ideas on this thread!

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

I re-read Emerson and Melissa's interview with J.K. from last year, and J.K. stated that at that time, scar was still the last word of the seventh book, but she wasn't postitive that scar would still be the last word when book seven is published.

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

how about.....

The man seated on the stool at the far end of the bar, darkened by years of soot and spilt coffee, overheard the smaller witch whispering softly as she drained her dusty glass of it's final drop of firewhiskey, "and you reckon he died afer that?"
"Well," started her drinking mate as she gathered up her grocery sack, "he must've hadn't he? he hadn' t been seen since that day in the cemetary," she raised her voice a bit to sound celebratory, "the day Harry Potter killed Voldemort!" Several of the patrons shifted uncomfortably in their seats at the name that hadn't been spoken openly in so many years. It still didn't seem real to them that their fears were eased and they could begin living "normal" lives again.
"And he never married that girl, what was her name..........Weasley, right?" asked the witch as they began walking out the door, dust rising with each footstep. "Nah, couldn't have could he, too busy fighting HIM, the other witch answered. As the two reached the door the man on the stool turned slightly to catch their last words before they left the bar for the alley beyond. The slightly opened door muffled their words with sounds from other shoppers busy with daily chores. "Too, bad," the shorter witch said doefully, and I heard he was kinda good lookin".
As the women let the door slowly close the outside noise off, the man turned back towards the bar and, catching the barkeep's eye smiled slightly, he raised a blackened hand to mess up his unkept hair that was greyer than it had been years before and then slowly let his fingers fall to his forehead and trace the outline of what remained of a lightning bolt shaped scar.......AW

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

So Severus adopted Harry and they redecorated Spinners End in bright, cheerful colours to help them forget the awful years of estrangement. They chose pink and lilac - Lily's favourite colours - and it was almost as if she was still with them, looking down on her first love and her only son, happy to know that they had finally found each other. Wormtail and Hermione came round for drinks and Scrabble every Friday night and soon the only reminder of their traumatic past was the thin white zig-zag on Harry's forhead. But now it was no longer a Horcrux, just a perfectly normal scar.

The question was why? Why did Snape save him he was his enemy.

At that moment as if his thoughts where heard Snape walked into him room, he still had the Sallow crooked face that he always had but there was something that seemed different this time. Harry knew he was here to tell him why and he was so curious he just decided to let him.

"Hello Potter" Snape said in his velvet like voice
Harry said nothing he just looked at him
"I am sure you want to know why so i am just going to tell you and don't interupt!
"Dumbledore told me to look after you......"
"BUT YOU KILLED HIM!" Harry was so full of rage, he didn't care if he helped him he still killed Dumbledore.

"Yes, Potter i did kill Albus but i did not want to he told me to"
Harry was confused, he told him to.
"I see the confusion in your face Potter, you see Dumbledore was already dieing the curse that i save him from by the ring was slowly killing him, i stopped it from killing imedietly but we both knew what was to come.
Harry sudenly remembered Hagid telling him he overheard Snape telling Dumbledore he didn't want to do something and he relised it was that.

"How do you think he found those Horcruxes so easily? I was helping you, i was there all the time like Dumbledore i do not need a cloak to become invisable."

"You probably hear this all the time but your eyes are so much like your mothers, i loved her you know and i have never loved anyone since. Your father took her away from me and my hatred for him grew.
Your eyes twinkled at me tonight and i knew i had to help you somehow i thought you had it in you to defete the Dark Lord but i knew when it was nearly over it would be you who would die so i had to step in and the distaction i made was enough for you to defete him and with no Horcruxes left that was him gone and i am glad that i accomplished what Dumbledore wanted me to, i helped you defete him.
"I don't know what to say Professer"
"Don't say anthing just be glad you have got rid of that Scar!"

What you all think?

that is an awsome ending... but only if it was like 3 chapters before the end so we can find out more about thier lives after that moment... also the wordign of it doesnt see like the characters would say that...

harry wouldn't say to snape: i dont know what to say proffeser. also, to the fact that he isnt a professer

Muggle

Like every other boy his age, Bert Potter is a pain in the neck to most adults. Feeling like an adult, but not quite one yet, he believes that the world is his to explore; his to conquer – and woe is to the one who would try and stop him. Today, it was especially so, because he just received his driver’s license. Oh, he just couldn’t wait to hit the road, to rip the tar with his tires! Itching to get into his new jeep, he impatiently tried to ease his mother’s apprehensions.
“Don’t WORRY mom, I can drive. The guy wouldn’t give me the license if I hadn’t passed the road test!” pleaded the teen.
“Harry, tell him he shouldn’t drive that thing, please, he’s too young! Why do they allow such young and careless boys to drive?!”
“Relax, Ginny, you’ve seen cars before. It might not be as safe as broomsticks, but they’re not that bad!”
“Broomsticks?” said Bert astonished. It always happened, his parents kept referring to weird things like that.
“It’s nothing,” his dad said quickly, but Bert could catch the sad glimpse he gave his mother. It was always the same when they let that weirdness slip. Sometimes he wondered what kind of life these two had before he was born, but he was way too busy with his self appointed job of being a teen to try and find out.
Mom’s worries having been alleviated, Bert was finally driving his cool machine on the highway. Not strictly concerned about where he’ll end up, he didn’t look at the road signs, but rather concentrated on the road itself, and the car, of course. Boy, the car had so many features! Controllers for the front windows, the back windows, the roof, the heater, cooler, stereo… he was in a heaven that smelled of leather and plastic. By the time he considered worrying about where in the world he was at, he realized that he was not far from his uncle George and aunt Ellen’s house. Why not stop by and show the car to his cousins?
Uncle George. He was the only uncle who’s house he ever visited. All his other uncles and aunts visited them a lot too, as well as a number of his parents’ old friends, but he never saw where they lived. Somewhere in the back of his mind he always wondered about that. They all dressed strange and acted funny, not knowing how to work the silliest gadgets, like the toaster, for example.
Bert parked the car in his uncle and aunt’s driveway. Squealing the breaks noisily, he made sure they all heard him and would come to look at how cool his car is. Looking up at the house, he saw that not only were uncle George and his family there, but uncle Ron and aunt Hermione were there too, visiting. Great, he thought, now I can also show my jeep off to cousins Brian and Claire!
Not wanting to waste time Bert skipped over to the house and waved for everyone to come right over and check out his prize.
“Hey Bert,” uncle Ron yelled as he walked over, “ nice car!”
“Is this your early birthday gift?” asked Claire excitedly, “we’re all coming to your house tomorrow to celebrate your seventeenth birthday, it’s a special occasion, and you’ll be coming of age.”
“Of age? What do you mean?” asked Bert.
“Muggles don’t come of age ‘till they’re eighteen,” Hermione said.
“One day you’ll tell me what Muggles mean, right?” Bert smiled at Hermione.
“Yeah, but let’s get inside now.”
As everyone was getting inside, Claire and Brian stayed outside pretending to still look at the jeep.
“Bert, we have to tell you something,” Claire said quietly, “let’s take a drive and talk.”
“Your parents might kill us for telling you this, but your whole family are witches and wizards,” Brian said
Bert looked at his cousins speechless.
“Well, except for Ellen, George met her at the Muggle paper shop where he enchanted her with his magic tricks.”
“What are you talking about?” asked Bert smiling stupidly. He knew they must be pulling his leg.
“We think it’s time you found out who you are; who we all are.”
Claire and Brian told Bert everything: all about the magical world, and everything his father did to save it, and everything that happened afterwards.
When Harry and Ginny Potter got married after the war, there was never a happier couple in the world. They spent all their time together, working at Hogwarts in the daytime, flying on their broomsticks in the moonlight. They built a beautiful house in Hogsmeade Village, complete with a garden full of magical plants that would hum romantic tunes to them when they got home from work. They had everything they ever wanted except for a child of their own. The years went by, and they tried everything from charms to potions, until finally they were expecting a baby.
The day Bert was born, the whole wizarding world was celebrating. His cute baby face was all over the newspapers and magazines. And the potter family could not be happier.
Three years later, Bert and his parents were at St Mungo’s Hospital seeing a great healer, trying to figure out why Bert was unable to fly his toy broomstick, or use his toy wand. And why he never showed any magical ability at all.
Healer Bones gave them the sad news, “I’m sorry, Mr. And Mrs. Potter, your son is a squib.”
Harry and Ginny stood gaping at the Healer. How could that be? How could THEIR child be a squib? What will happen to him? Growing up as a squib is no fun, even for a boy whose parents are not world famous. What will happen to Bert? Images of Filch and Arabella Figg came to their mind as they looked at each other in shock. No! Our son will NOT be a sad lonely squib in a magical world!
That same night, Harry and Ginny Potter and their son Bert disappeared from the magical world and a new family moved into a Muggle street.
“And since that day, they stopped using magic. They became Muggles, like you.” Claire concluded.
“Well!” Bert felt mice running up and down his spine. “Well,” he said again, gathering his wits, “ it sure sounds like a good story, but I just don’t buy it!”
“Weren’t you ever curious about why your dad has a scar on his forehead?” asked Brian.
“You mean the one he got in the car crash when he was a baby?”
"Is that how he told you it happened?" laughed Brian
“Can a car give you such a perfectly shaped wound and right in the middle of your forehead?” asked Claire looking at Bert intently.
Bert hadn’t realized he was sweating until he tasted the salty drop on his upper lip.
“no, I didn’t think so,” said Claire softly, “so if it ever bothered you, if you ever wondered about it, now you know the story behind your father’s scar”

HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

soooooooooooooooooooo not nice..........it is NOT gonna end like that!!!!!!!!!!

"With a ray of green light Harrys body exploded. All that was left of him was his forehead. The only way Professor Grubby Plank was able to identify the body was by his scar." THE END!

That is not good for me, Harry can't die.

I don't like scar as the last word.

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

... his bright green eyes looked up at his father... "I'm not at all sleepy... Daddy, please tell me the story again."

"But Junior, you've heard that old story a hundred times," Ginny said from the doorway, a smile on her face as she watched Harry tucking their son into bed.

"Please? One more time?" said Little Harry, as he looked pleadingly up at his father's face.

"Alright... alright already... one more time! Then you must get to bed, as tomorrow is your first day at Hogwarts young man, and you'll need your strength to wrestle the troll."

"Thank you Father! I do promise to be quiet!" Ginny shook her head, then gently closed the door on her two boys.

"Ahem... Once Upon a Time there was a boy called, 'The Boy Who Lived'. There did not seem to be much remarkable about this boy at all, a small, skinny boy, with brilliant green eyes..."

"Like mine?"

"Yes, just like yours, now be still, or no story, understood?... ... green eyes and jet black hair that was always untidy. He wore round glasses, and on his forhead was a thin, lightning-shaped scar..."

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

I really hope she ends up keeping the last word as "scar" even though she eluded to posibly changing it in her mugglenet interview.

I like something simple like:

"And though he had always thought it looked cool, he could get used to a life without his scar"

Or

"And as the trio walked out of the doors of hogwarts for the last time, Harry knew now they wern't staring at his scar"

Me too... I think it would be great if she manages to use the last chapter she has had written so long, at least for the most part. I suspect that the 'reprieve' might have affected her ability to do that... But I also trust Mrs. Rowling. If she DOES change it, then it will be because it had to be changed!

By the way - Is it just me? I don't want Harry to lose his scar! (Which is how a lot of people have used it as the last word)

Yeah, it's very possible...don't forget that this is #3 of the thread, if I'm not mistaken, not the first one. We have about 85 pages with possible endings!
After book 7 comes out it would be fun to see the endings again and make a list of the ones who came closer to the real one!

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

Lord Voldemort groaned as he struggled to his feet. He looked around the graveyard, the massacre. He looked down and grinned at Harry Potter, who was sprawled on the ground, scarless...and lifeless
Voldemort walked through the graveyard, delighted that he had finally done it, when he caught sight of himself in a cracked mirror propped against a tombstone (no one knew how it had gotten there)
"Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"
Voldemort screamed and sunk to the ground, staring into the mirror. He saw the same old features, his white skin, his red eyes...but there was a difference. On his pale forehead there was a thin, lightning-shaped scar.

HA!
