Yeah, let's just leave it to JK... Still, I think there will not be a cliffhanger ending to leave us thinking "what's going to happen next?" I hope not. That would torture me. I think it's going to have a kind of "that's it, the end, nothing more" feel to it. If that makes sense. Gosh, this is making my head hurt.

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

O.k. you know how the first book started out from Uncle Vernon's point of view...
well it could end from his narrative point of view.... with his telling how--- granted he never really liked the boy, but without him he doesn't know what would of happened. (Of course Uncle Vernon seems to still be offened by the very idea of the wizarding world, but he is a little more accepting of it as long as he never has to deal with it again) anyway, back to my point.... Uncle Vernon's last words in the book could be...
and to think all of this happened because of a scar. (In other words she could make it as though Uncle Vernon's been telling the story all along.)

Would be a great little twist…
But wouldn’t he say something like; ‘And all that my family had been through, was because of some little, up-to-no-good boy and his ugly scar…. ‘ ohh dear sweet uncle Vernon

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

A super-happy ending would be: "and eventually Harry, with help from Hermione, created a new defence spell; it was quick and easy to perform by all wizards, and acted as an unbreakable defence against the Avadra Kedavra curse, and all it caused was a scar."

Oh wow... That would be hysterical! The whole hp community would sort-of go up in flames... lol!

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

I think she's a good enough writer that she would never make it cheesy or forced. I think it's going to be about him without his scar or something about how useful it was like DD's scar of the Underground.

She may had made another plan in her head instead of ending it with a scar..I think this will be best.

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

"Harry turned to leave, the turmoil of the last day, the last 17 years, aching in his body worse than ever.
'It's over,' he thought. 'Time to go home.'
Harry Potter walked alone across the threshold of Hogwart's front doors, not stopping to look back at the wreckage behind him. He saw only the beautiful Great Hall of Hogwarts, the enchanted ceiling, the cobblestone floors, and the House tables that had divded his peers for much too long. He sat down on the bench of the Gryffindor table, waiting to be joined, as he knew he would be, by Hermione, Ron, and (his heart lept at the thought) Ginny, and felt at peace for the first time in 17 years. Harry knew that Dumbledore had been right all along, that love was the ultimate power that could ever be possessed. And for the first time in the past year, despite all the loss and all of the horrors he had borne witness to, Harry smiled.
The greatest and most terrible war the wizarding kind had ever endured began and ended with Harry Potter and his infamous scar."

I wish, haha.

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

I guess this has been suggested before but how about this one:

And they flew away on their honeymoon in Weasley's car. Sorry, just being silly.

I see it generally as something like an epilogue, like something finishing the whole story up. And as it all started with that scar, it makes sense that it finishes with it.

Now that Voldemort was dead everything was wonderful. Everyone's life was back to normal. Harry was just glad something was gone. His scar.

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

"As the darkness gradually fell on Godric Hollow, Harry stuffed his wand back into his pocket. His search was over, and his mission done. All that was left to him was to fade into obscurity, forever known as The Boy Who Lived. But how does one go on? When the constant dangers and feuds of his old life having passed into non-existence, what was there left for him to do in life?

Just then, the crunching sound of feet against the smoldering remains of his parent's house snapped Harry out of his thoughts and back to reality. He turned around, and saw her. Ginny, happy tears streaming down her face, strode up to Harry and took his arm in hers.

As she lead him away from the wreckage a sly grin came across Harry's face, as a new series of thoughts entered his mind.

"Well, I suppose a calm life won't be so bad."

And so, The Boy Who Lived, was now free of the bondage that had held him for his entire life. He had once been a prisoner, but now he had been set free by the very thing that had placed shackles on him in the first place. It all began, and ended, with a scar."

Sound too cheesy? Whatever it ends up turning out to be I'm sure JK will be able to write something better then that. I certainly hope she can anyway.

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

I think it'll end in a kind of time lapse or soemthing. Like Harry defeats Voldemort then there's a paragraph saying what happened after Voldemort was killed and Harry Potter shall always be rembered for deafting the Dark Lord, that brave boy with his lightening bolt scar....something along those lines.

'Dude where's my scar' - Thats probably been said allready...

Thinking about it, if harry dies, how would the final word be scar? Is this perhaps a glimmer of hope I see, or have I just not given enough thought on how to rearrange the words to be 'scar' in the case of his death.

Please say it's the former. I enjoy living in denial.
lol lol lol.. maybe its someone elses scar this time .

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

As soon as Voldemort began to slowly dissapear right before their eyes....So did the scar and all the magic it had posessed...Harry had finally realized that he now had lost the only thing that made him the famous boy who lived to the boy with no magic what so ever......all thanks to that lightning-shaped scar.

Re: Last Word of Book Seven is "Scar"

Ever since I saw that the last word of the last book would be 'scar' i've always had this sentance in my head. I too think it will be after an epilouge of sorts....

"And that is the story of the boy with the lightening shapped scar"

or something to that effect anyway

a Eulogy- "Everyone took a moment of silence to honor Harry Potter, the man behind the scar."

A eulogy means Harry would have to die, and I'm sorry, I just refuse to accept the possibility at this point.
