Re: Muse

Saw em for the 5th time last week, stage show is just pure awesome! I even got into the songs from The Resistance, even that album is terrible. I miss Muse from OoS and Absolution era, they were so amazing back then!

+1

Yeah, it'd be great if they played with as much energy as they did back then. It's just too over rehearsed and 'perfect' now, for me the imperfections make it all that much better. Next tour they need to tone it down and throw in a few more rarities. It needs to be more about the music and less about the visuals. JMO.

Re: Muse

Origin of symmetry is my favourite album.
Hullabaloo also good.

Re: Muse

I'm really sad about them not playing any more songs off of OoS after Reading and Leeds. It's my favorite album of theirs.

Re: Muse

I definitely won't be going to another Muse show now that they won't be playing OoS (which is their best album by miles)... unless their next album is phenominal...

I too prefer them back in the olden days. Seeing them in 2004 was wonderful. No big flashy lights or anything, just a great rock show.

Re: Muse

I'm not a huge fan of Muse, but I do have a few of their songs on my iPod, my absolute favorite being Map Of Your Head.

I was also listening to Starlight on the way to work this morning. And now that song is stuck in my head.

I doubt they'll drop all songs from OoS - they said 'some' will 'probably' never be played again - I'm pretty sure PiB will stay a staple and New Born and Feeling Good will be played now and again.

Also, Matt said the next album will be going back to their roots and will be more stripped down. Guess we'll have to see, Matt says alot of things.

EDIT: Matt's just tweeted that they'll probably play OoS in it's entirety.

Re: Muse

I don't get all the hate for The Resistance, I kinda liked it. People have complained about the lyrics being too focused on rebellion etc., but that was the message of the album hence "The Resistance". Unnatural Selection, MK Ultra and the Exogenesis Symphonies were class. Still my favourite album by them is Absolution with OOS close behind.

Man I'm glad I'm seeing them at Reading this year then. I can't believe they're dropping OoS songs after that, they're the only reason I can still stomach Muse! (None of the post-Absolution nonsense, thank you!).

So do you think they'll do an OoS tour? - it would make sense as it's 10 years old in the UK. It would be a bit like Primal Scream's Screamadelica tour at the moment. It might get rid of the Twilight kids...!

Re: Muse

I saw Muse back in March 2010. Awesome experience, as it was my first real concert and it was while I was totally obsessed with Muse. I discovered them back in '08 and fell in love with every song, and in 09 was glad to experience the release of The Resistance. I still nominally put Muse at the top of my list of favorite bands, but honestly I haven't been listening to them as much lately since I've discovered so many more awesome bands and have broadened my musical tastes... but every once in a while I go back and listen to some Muse and remember how awesome their music is.
