I think Ron will see all of the things the Mirror of Erised showed him come true. He will be Quiddich captain, Head Boy and will stand out from all of his brothers.

Arthur will be head of the Order and eventually Minister of Magic.

Bill and Fleur's wedding will be interupted by Death Eaters trying to get Harry.

Harry will go to Albania searching for a Horcrux and meet up with Victor Krum.

Harry will be able to go through the veil without dying (maybe by using the invisibility cloak?) and talk to Sirius and others. He will bring one mirror with him and leave the other with Ron and Hermione, so they can communicate. When he goes back to the land of the living, he will know where to look for at least one horcrux and will leave the mirror with Sirius.

Harry will use the pensieve to find out exactly what happened the night his parents died.

Hagrid will die trying to save Harry. Grawp will bring the giants to the good side as a tribute to Hagrid.

Fawkes will be important in the final battle, perhaps allowing Harry's wand to win against Voldemort's.

The locket is in Kreacher's den - although Harry will first think that Mundungus stole it.

One of the horcruxes will be found in Gryffindor's secret chamber in Hogwarts - probably the cup

Harry will go back for Snape's potion book

Harry will find out why Dumbledore trusted Snape - possibly from his portrait. Dumbledore will be conveniently located on Harry's chocolate frog card to talk to in times of need (possibly).

Bill Weasley's blood will be used to make a cure for all werewolves.

Lupin will live and be happily married to Tonks now that his furry little problem has been taken care of.

One or more Weasleys will die - I worry most about the twins and Charlie. Also, Harry has lost all his protectors except for one, Mrs. Weasley - so I worry about her too.

Percy will come to his senses after the death of a family member and do something heroic to redeem himself.

Luna will die. Neville may also die, but not until after his revenge against the death eaters (all of them, not just bellatrix) that tortured his parents.

Kingsley Shacklebot, Mad-eye Moody and at least one other Order member will die. Scrimgour will probably die too.

A teacher will die - possibly Flitwick - Ravenclaw will have it's day.

The Dursleys will have to take refuge in 12 Grimauld Place. With Dumbledore dead, the spell that he used to bind Dudley's powers (at Petunia's request) will end and Vernon will learn that Dudley is a wizard.

Doby will play a crucial role in finding the horcruxes.

The secret passage that was caved in will be revisited - maybe you can now get into the chamber of secrets that way.

Ravenclaw's relic will be some sort of wand or staff.

Ollivander is not dead, but he is in hiding - he will find Harry and give him some important information.

Hermione and the HBP potions book will be essential for getting through the protections around the remaining horcruxes. Now that Hermione realizes she was using potions from that book all through her potions education (Snape always wrote the instructions on the board), she will trust it more.

Ron will have a shining moment of glory that allows Harry to confront Voldemort. He will be badly injured but survive.

Ginny will be captured by Voldemort - but she will survive.

The Malfoys will all die, punished by Voldemort.

At least some students in Slytherin will be on the good side (perhaps even Crabbe and Goyle) and all four houses will unite.

1. Hargrid will be deeply wounded in battle when Norbert the dragon turns up and burns his enemy. Hagrid has roast for dinner that night.

3. Professor McGonnagal becomes obsessed with finding out what Harry and Dumbledore's meetings were about. She slips vertiseralum (sp?) into rons pumpkin juice and finds the secret of the horcuxes.
4.kreacher seduces winky, when hermione finds out she develops anorexia after goin on a hunger strike in protest.
5. Ginny gets jealous of hermiones toned body. she casts a spell on her body to make herself skinny but it backfire and she ends up with 'Ginny Ginny is a squiby' written on her forehead
6. Dean thomas is under the imperialism curse and exploits himself at one of the school feasts.
7. R.A.B turns out to be Burke from Borgin and Burkes. (and from greys anatomy)
8. Angelina from the quidditch team has a huge fight with oliver wood because he won't go out with her. She ends up calling him racist and he joins SPEW. Ron makes a caramel coloured baby with Angelina.
9.Hermione has a third nipple which she finds out has the same powers as harrys scar except she feels dumbledores feelings. From beyond the grave.
10. Dudley finds out mrs figg is a squib and breaks her leg. ouch!

I'm so happy to see that my favorite old thread is still alive!! Since the old thread is closed up, I'll make a new list for book 7 predictions:

1. Snape is a good guy. (He's still a jerk and I don't like him, but I think he was acting on Dumbledore's orders and not Voldemort's)

2. Dumbledore really is dead. (We may get some wisdom or help from him in the form of his portrait, a message left for Harry, Fawkes, etc., but he is dead.)

3. Harry will kill Voldemort and survive. (As I interpret the prophecy, "None can live while the other survives" translates to "One CAN live if the other does NOT survive.")

4. Ron, Hermione & Ginny will also live. (No bets on anyone else. Hagrid, Lupin, Snape, and Mr & Mrs Weasley seem likely candidates for being killed off.)

5. Neville will prove himself a great wizard and get some form of revenge on Bellatrix. (I just can't see JKR denying him and us the satisfaction of seeing her pay for her actions.)

6. Harry and Ginny will live happily ever after together.

7. R.A.B. is Regalus Black.

8. The locket from Grimmauld Place is/was a Horcrux. (It is questionable whether R.A.B. succeeded in destroying the part of Voldemort's soul contained inside, since the locket is still unable to be opened.)


9. Something will be different about Harry's trip home to Privet Drive this time. (Perhaps he will receive information, cooperation, or support from Aunt Petunia, who will finally come to terms with the fact that she misses her sister and Harry is doing a good thing to avenge her killer.)

10. Luna is a seer. (I'm still sticking with this theory because of the similarities between Luna and Trelawny. I don't necessarily think it will play a big part in the story, though.)

PART TWO: I don't have a theory, but I REALLY want to know...

1. ...more about the Department of Mysteries. If the bell jar was "time" and the veil room was "death", then we could assume that the brain tank was "knowledge", and the planet room "space", what else is there? Love?

2. ...how Fred & George won that bet at the world cup!

3. ...if Ron and/or the Weasleys have something to do with Gryffindor's lineage. (When J. K. Rowling said that there was foreshadowing in the PoA movie, the detail that seemed to stick out to me was the scene where the boys are in the dorms eating candy & making animal noises, and Ron lets out a Lion's roar. Also, Ginny is described as being cat-like.)

4. ... if Dumbledore was an animagus. (I believe he may have been the wasp buzzing during Harry's test, having come back to keep an eye on him while he was fired. Also, being a wasp would make it easy to go unnoticed, meaning he could have eavesdropped on important conversations, traveled looking for the Horcruxes without detection, and explain his tendency to "know everything")

3. The school opens, the Trio will be forced by some kind of event to go back to the school in secret.

7. Harry is the final horcrux

9. Snape will be the factor in saving Harry's life. Final confrontation is somewhere near the ministry in a kind of arena. Ron and Hermione will be near with Ginny. Harry goes over to the vail, but comes back. Harry's soul is full of love, that LV can't defete him. Snape will kill him, but is killed himself.

10. R/Hr will end up together. Ginny should survive, she & Harry will end up together.

1.) Harry recieves help from an unexpected source when it comes to tracking down a horcrux.
2.) Hermione will discover where one of the horcruxes are.
3.) Harry is NOT a Horcrux.
4.) Nagini is not a Horcrux. Dumbledore messed up!
5.) Ravenclaws wand is a Horcrux.
6.) One of the Horcuxes is at the orphanage where Tom Riddle lived.

Other pieces of the Plot

1.) Snape is NOT evil, and will significantly help the good guys before he either A.) Is killed by Voldemort/Bellatrix or B.) Fakes death with Draught of Living Death Potions, wakes up, and is Headmaster of Hogwarts! Dumbledore trusted Snape because he LOVED Lily, and Dumbledore believes love is significantly more powerful than the hate he felt towards James and Gang.

2.) Dumbledore is dead, but had forseen and even ordered his own murder, so he will have left some clues for Harry.

3.) Pettigrew will die after repaying his life debt to Harry somehow. May kill Fenrir.

4.) Draco will die in a dramatic, tragic scene which will somehow involve his father. Should play a fairly large part in the book, at least in the beginning. He was a fairly major character.

5.) Neville will be be seriously injured, but will defeat Bellatrix.

6.) Percy has a story to tell. In COS he seemed to share a lot of similarities with young Voldemort. Percy is loved, so will end up different, but could play a considerable role. Maybe a DADA teacher, or even MOM eventually?

7.) RAB is Regulus Black, and he hid Slytherins locket in Grimmauld place. Kreacher helped him.

8.) The 5 kids: Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, and Neville will be leaders of the wizarding world after Voldemorts demise. They will all be Hero's, but some may be tragic hero's.

9.) And of course, Harry will defeat Voldemort with a little help from his friends. Harry could very well die, but I dont think so. Harry and Ginny will get back together.

7. Wormtail will aid Harry somehow - not necessarily intentionally to repay his life debt
8. Hogwarts will be open, Harry and friends will go back
9. The twins will die in a heroic fashion
10. Frank Longbottom will aid the fight against the DE's

a. At first it will be secret help
b. Then, midway through or so, they will have some kind of confrontation.
3. After the confrontation, Harry and Snape will talk...Snape may reveal some of his side of the story, but Harry doesn't believe it right away.
4. Eventually, the two will work together and reach a certain understanding/respect, as Dumbledore wanted.
5. Remorse is indeed part of the reason why Dumbledore trusts Snape. I think Snape felt such remorse at helping direct Voldemort to the Potters that out of that remorse he made an Unbreakable Vow with Lily to protect Harry should Lily and James die.
6. Hagrid will die.
7. I don't think Ron or Hermione will die, but they will somehow be unable to help Harry as he reaches the end of his journey (they will somehow be incapacitated or captured).
8. Snape was "that awful boy" Petunia referenced.
9. Harry will become, not dark exactly, but his rage at Dumbledore's death and Snape will consume him in the first part of the book--maybe he even pushes a spell or something too far (an Unforgivable?) and does something he regrets. Then he will remember his power of love and light.

Ok, this is the first time I've done this sort of thing so here goes...

(And sorry to be repetitive. I just want to make sure that I join the dots so that people don't wonder where I'm coming from when I start to make wild claims)

1. R.A.B. is, of course, Regulas (A.) Black, Sirius Black's younger brother.

2. The real locket/horcrux is the "heavy locket" which noone could open that Harry found at Grimmauld Place.

3. Severus Snape is one of the good guys

4. Dumbledore didn't give Snape the Defense Against the Dark Arts job for so long because he knew (or deduced) Voldemort had cursed the job and wanted Snape to be kept at Hogwarts, a bit like Professor Trelawney actually.

5. Dumbledore's iron-clad reason for trusting Snape will become apparent in DH.

6. Regulas A. Black had to have a helper to get the real locket and switch it for the fake that Harry and Dumbledore got.

7. Severus Snape and Regulas Black were partners.

Reasons for stating the above (especially 7) are: both were at one point Death Eaters; Regulas Black was killed by Voldemort for something (it must have been important!); we've never had a good reason to trust Snape; there had to be two people for the water in the basin to be drunk and then to get out of the cave.

Harry transforms Voldie into a snake permanently, and Voldie, no longer human, but as "innocent" as a snake, just slithers away.

Jo has said that two people will die. Fan fic: Voldemort uses powerful magic to craft himslf a new wand, or receives one via extortion. He does this to avoid the GOF effect with the memories and such. He and Harry engage in a duel to the death. Both aim their wands and perform Avada Kedavra and are killed at the same time. OR Harry kills Voldemort, and either A. knowing he's a horcrux, or B. thinking he's a monster for killing, turns his wand on himself. Ginny gives him a goodbye kiss, and his scar disappears. PRANK ENDING: after all this, Professor Trelawy steps in and says, "my bad. I left out a small detail of the prophecy. everyone turns and stares. She says, "The prohecy was supposed to read PS. if this isn't clear enough, it's neville who should be marked." MY PREDICTION: Harry kills Voldemort, harry lives happily ever after, and peter pettigrew sacrifices himself due to the owed life debt.

My thoughts & predictions are as follows:

4. Filch is the one who discovers powers late in life, saving school in the nick of time.

7. Ron & Hermione have the chance to save Draco life, which they eventually take.
8. Dudley lives, his dad dies.

10. Harry, Ron, Ginny & Hermione survive to be Arrors in the end.
11. Neville & Luna marry and live happily ever after.

13. A lot of known (named, like seamus, dean, Cho, Lavender...) students die, but Filch & Minerva save some and many unknown ones.
14. Hogwarts remains a school after the book ends.
15. Harry & Ginny Marry and live happily ever after
16. Hermione & Ron also Live happily ever after as married couple.

just finished reading 5 and 6 for the first time in a long time (too long) and here are two ideas:

1- Lupin was a death eater/in league with Voldermont. I read somewhere..probably here, that JK said his weakness is his need to be liked/for acceptance. He could have been easily swayed by Voldy who would have played on his insecurities as a wearwolf. And then Lily persuaded him to reform- Rowling also said that the screenwriter for PoA, whose name escapes me, had good intuition and put in things that were relevent to forecoming novels. Lupin says somthing to the effect of Lily being there for him at a time nobody else was. That could be it. It would also give some justification to Sirius suspecting Lupin as a traitor.

2- Hogwarts is a Horocrux, makes sense, its not likely to be destroyed.

4: Snape aids Harry with insights about V and dark magic protections of horcruxes. They still detest each other but Snape dies protecting Ginny and so changes Harry's opinion and Harry finally understands the difference between people that are merely nasty and Death eaters.
5:Ron's main purpose in the plot is as "Watson" to both Hermione and Harry to facilitate exposition but his chess strategy brain is used in working out strategies to trap V and obtain horcruxes that are in the possession of DEs. If he is not used in this way then he may die. Hagrid will die. Neville captures or kills Bella. Lupin kills Greyback.
6: Harry's scar, Rune magic and Lilly's blood are all interlinked. Once the horcruxes are destroyed which dilute the influence of Harry/Lilly's blood on Voldemort's soul the remaining soul part is increasingly uncomfortable in Voldemort's body made from Harry/Lilly's blood. Invoking the rune magic discovered by Hermione causes the blood to reject Voldemort's soul. In the final confrontation Voldemort is surrounded by his allies the dementors. The combination of the invocation of the ancient Rune magic of love and blood protection and Harry's ability to use the patronus charm to control the dementors, turn the dementors on to Voldemort who's soul is screaming to escape his body in any case a dementor eats Vs soul. Thus both his mother and his father as the stag patronus vanquish Voldemort and Harry does not need to kill.
7: Hermione eventually becomes minister for magic and enacts SPEW legislation and many other modernisations of the ministries oppressive policies to the magical brethren as a result even the Centaurs become supporters of the ministry. Harry becomes DADA professor and eventually headmaster of Hogwarts Ginny becomes head of Gryffindor and charms professor. Luna and her father find the crumple horned snorkax in Norway and are renowned. Ron if he survives becomes a notable Auror after a career as an internationally renowned Quidditch Keeper. Neville becomes Herbology professor after a distinguished career discovering new magical plants.
