Re: Favorite / Best Harry Potter movie so far? v2
POA is still best.
POA 9/10 OOTP 8/10 GOF 7/10 PS/SS 5.5/10 COS 4/10 This is kind of off topic, but as a consolation for the first two movies being kind of bad, I'm glad there are little details that appear or have some sort of outcome in DH. Like when Harry swallows the snitch in PS/SS, Sirius' motorcycle and the Mandrakes. It's a small consolation, but I'll take it. |

Re: Favorite / Best Harry Potter movie so far? v2
I definitely have to say that GoF was the best one. They eliminated small things but not tooo much. I think just enough was taken out but still left in some of the little things, and the story was all there and a lot of emphasis put on the important things.

Re: Favorite / Best Harry Potter movie so far? v2
PoA! PoA changed a lot of things, but managed to keep the overall feel of the book intact.
I really hope Alfonso Cuarón and John Williams the come back and do Deathly Hallows.

Re: Favorite / Best Harry Potter movie so far? v2
I've enjoyed the movies so far, and I'm not sure which one I would consider "the best." I think the first movie was a letdown in some ways, and I was really bothered by some of the things left out from PoA. So, I guess my favorite movies are CoS, GoF, and OotP, though it'd be difficult for me to rank them.

PoA was the best even if they did cut out a little bit.

The Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite. They are all good movies with a lot of action and special effects.

Re: Favorite / Best Harry Potter movie so far? v2
I'm having a very hard time choosing between GOF and OOTP as my favorite. As of right now, here is my list from best to least best of the films:
1. Order of the Phoenix (tie) 2. Goblet of Fire (tie) 3. Prisoner of Azkaban 4. Chamber of Secrets 5. Sorcerer's Stone

Re: Favorite / Best Harry Potter movie so far? v2
I guess I'm in the minority in that SS/COS being my favorites mostly because watching them is why I became a HP fan in the first place. I do think OOTP was probably the best adapted movie of overall.
I rank them as follows: SS COS OOTP POA GOF

Re: Favorite / Best Harry Potter movie so far? v2
My favorite is either GoF or OotP. I can't choose. OotP is the most intelligent of the films, with the best character portrayals, whereas GoF is the most entertaining and is just plain fun.
Then there's PoA, which is middle-of-the-road. It's visually stunning and cinematic, but just doesn't quite capture the emotions I felt reading the book (most particularly in the revealing of Harry's patronus as James). CoS and PS/SS are definitely the weakest: they are glacially paced and blandly directed. PS/SS is acceptable, because it's setting up and building up for the entire series. CoS was just a disaster. No focus, little fun. The film is more boring and sleep-inducing than Professor Binns' lectures. I can't imagine how anyone could rewatch the film and stay awake. And the "There's no Hogwarts without you, Hagrid" ending probably ranks as the most embarrassing moment of my life.

Re: Favorite / Best Harry Potter movie so far? v2
i liked Order Of The Phoenix the best. Yes, they did leave out an awful lot, but i feel like they got the important parts there. I also thought that they captured the feel and mood of the book better than the previous films.

Re: Favorite / Best Harry Potter movie so far? v2
My favorite has to be the Order of the Phoenix movie. Every time Sirius and Harry hugged I literally cried. The feel of the book and Umbridge is dead on. But I wish Snape's worst memory had been shown with much more clarity. Sirius FOR EVER!

but I think my favourite movie will be deathly hallows

Re: Favorite / Best Harry Potter movie so far? v2
My favorite gots to be OOTP since its visually stunning, emotional intensify, the acting improve greatly, great action scenes, truthfully captures the feeling of the books and characters, nice funny moments, music is lovely and the plot works for the movie. I just love David Yates and Michael Goldenberg. Yes I know that one of the few that does.

Re: Favorite / Best Harry Potter movie so far? v2
I loved the first movie because he had such an impact bringing a lot of images that I had imagine in the book so perfectly, but after the other films came I have to say that my favorite is PoA.
