Good Day Everyone,

I'm sorry to say that CoS Forums is going to shut down in the Summer, sometime around July. This isn't an early April Fools joke either.

The Forums have become quite expensive to run and manage. There's a lot (LOT) less traffic coming to the site these days as Harry Potter becomes less of a topical debate for people.

I held on for a while after the last film, wondering whether JK would announce anything surprising, but I find that even if she did it wouldn't serve to help the diminishing numbers on the site or my bank balance!

Myself, I've been absent a lot more in the past year as personal issues have taken over and I've had to work longer hours, to earn more money to keep the forums going as well as pay for things like rent, utilities and god knows what else.

Some of you will be sad and I'm sure others will be happy. I'm not doing this lightly and I could have closed the site last year but held off. I know this may upset some of you who've come to see this place as a haven with friends and I'm very sorry it has to go but I've kept this place going with money out of my own pocket for 10 years now and it's no longer financially viable to do so. Please understand that this is not an easy decision!

Some of you may wish to offer to help, to donate or even take on the site. Whilst I would listen to any suggestions, I will not accept donations as this would be unsustainable in the long-term. If you wanted to take on CoS, be aware that you would need to find $200 per month and to be honest with you all I'm not sure I'm prepared to let the site be taken over by anyone. I've created a thread for comments. The other staff know only as much as the above. There is no Plan B as far as they are concerned, so do not pester them for answers to questions. If they do not know, they are being totally honest.

Many thanks to everyone who for the last 10+ years have worked in one way or another on the site. All the staff, past and present who gave their time and energy to making the community work. Every single person gave their time for free and were never paid for their efforts. It was a labor of love for all.
Many thanks to the members, those who came & went and dared to stay. Every single one of you who contributed to the site, to the discussions and events. You were the ones who made the site what it became, from the all the book releases to the heated, sometimes famous debates about all sorts of topics. You made CoS what it was. So thank you.

I'm planning on getting a Thestral, but I'm waiting to see how the movie version turns out to see if I'll use that as the basis photo for the artist or another Thestral pic I've already seen with the original artists permission... I should probaly hunt that pic down again and get around to asking.... it was beautiful. I think I'll do that now.

Um, not at a good shop. Mostly you can get one done with parental permission if you're 16, but artists still don't like doing it. The shop I used to work at would at 17, and where I get my tattoos now simply won't do it at all.

You'd be so lucky to get one young; my mother always hated my tattoos and I've had them for four years!

Those are so cool! I'm not a tattoo person but still, cool. I do plan to get one of those temp tattoos of the dark mark this october and be an undercover deatheater for halloween. Everyone will think I'm just a witch with a tattoo but meh.

In here, where I live, some of the best tatoos shops let underage kids have tatoos done, but only with parental permission, but they don't recomend it though. There's one in Lisbon, where you must go with one of your parents, so that they know that your parents really let you do it...but when they are doing the tatoo they don't like the parents to be in the shop.

You're dark marks are really cool, but I'm not into tatoos...maybe when I'm older I'll change my mind, for now I'm trying to convince my dad to let me have a piercing in my eyebrow.

Holy Morsmordre!!! Let's not let this thread die!!!!!!

What would you all think of I were to buy a domain name and start up a site for only Death Eaters??? Would you all be down for that??? I've been looking for names, but most of them are taken - though I could try buying some of them out... I've got the money...

Maybe you can give me some ideas... if I do say so myself, I'm a fantastic web designer, and I'd take all the time that's needed to design a very nice website, and do all the promotion for it... and I'd love some of you "old skool" kids to join me on my venture....

I'll post this on some other threads too... however, I figure the masters of the group should actually be "Marked" and all others can be Death Eaters, just not... "The Inner Circle" until they prove themselves... like real Death Eaters...



Give me some feedback!!! I'm willing if you are!!!

Here's two of mine, for my old school Dark Mark look in my siggy, it's about two years old now and I'm getting some green smoke put behind it.

Below is my Horntail, which is only about 2 weeks old, in the state it's in now, before that it was just meant to be a dragon and it was done by a bad tattooist and looked like ****, full prison tatt style. After talking to a new Tattooist he set about his work and was finished 4 hours later! When I got home that night I picked up my bed-time reading and glanced the cover of GOF (UK edition), the way the tattooist fixed it he made it look remarkably like the horntial. My completely unintentional Harry Potter Hungarian Horntail. (If you look at my sig, in the top right hand corner is some of the dragon before it was fixed, completely disgraceful)

Also I'm getting the snitch on my hand between my thumb and forefinger, the Hogwarts castle on the back of my bicep near the Horntail and the Slytherin and Hogwarts crest on either side of my ribs.

EDIT: I'd be in on the death eater site, would I get extra special privalages because I got mine years ago?

themarked is not
deatheater.com is for sale...and probably at a pretty high price...

and darkmarked.org is available (the dot com is just an ad-site)

And the way I see it, a .org is just fine, since it'd be great if it turned out to be a little organization anyway...

If you guys are really serious, get a hold of me! I think I'll do it either way, but I'd MUCH prefer to have all of your input and ideas!!!!
