Love the tattoos guys! I don't think I'd ever get a tattoo but those are really cool. You should really post some pictures of your it after you get one.

I'm finally getting mine next month as soon as I turn 18
The only problem is that I'm not very sure on what to get
I have tons of ideas, like the marauders or the hogwarts crest or a harry flying or maibe all of them,haha
I think the Weasly is Our King with a crown is the most likely but:
a. i don't know where to get it
b. what coulor should the crown be and
c.maybe a deathly hallows symbol would be best?
I'm not sure,
I'd be happy to hear your recommendations

When you are looking for an artist, make sure to look at the artists art, not the flash on the walls. If you give them an idea, you should get to see a mock up before they ink you.You need to make a decision about what you want though. If you can find an artist who is also a fan, all the better. Luckily my artist's wife was a fan and he saw the films (if not the books) so he had some idea of who Dobby was.

I will post Dobby later, as he is getting colored in Monday or Tuesday.

Wow, this is absolutely amazing! I'm so envious.

I don't think I ever mentioned on here that I got my first tattoo - the Deathly Hallows symbol; original, I know. I have a few more planned, but will most likely have to wait a while, if not longer.

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum but I already love this thread - all of your tats are amazing, I'm so jealous!
Was just wondering about a bit of advice really - I love the Dark Mark symbol, and want to get one (canon to those shown in the GoF movie) once I turn 18. But do you think it gives the wrong impression as a HP fan, seeing as the bad guys have them?
any thoughts would be nice

Actually, to be honest, that's one reason why I never wanted to get a Dark Mark. One can meet that thought with some irony, though, and then I think it works. Just be aware that you need said humour all your life.

I have a few tattoos but I always waited 6 months before I went and got it done. If I was still in love with the idea after that time then I went ahead and got one but this waiting period has saved me from some horrid tattoos. Maybe you an wait six months after you turn 18 before you get the tat. Think about the fact it is going to be on your body for the rest of your life! I'm not trying to deture you, just give you things to think about. Don't be hasty at 18 to run out and get a tattoo. It may be annoying to wait but in the long run a few months are not going to matter all that much.

Thanks Edith! It's on the outside of my left leg...Hermione is towards the front of my leg and Ron is at the back. And out of all my tattoos, neck included, Ron hurt the worst!! But it was worth it!!

Heather...that is just WOW! Very vibrant. I have Vader on one calf and Sidious on the other. They were both my most painful tattoos also.

Honniegal...I am jealous. Dobby is so nice. I would love a Dobby tat but I don't have the room.

Edith...If you don't simpathize with the Death Eaters, do not get the Dark Mark. It would be hypocrytical to wear the Mark but not support what it stood for in the books. If you plan on sleving out your left arm in Potter tats, then yes go ahead and get it, as it was an intrigal part of the Potter Universe.

I love my Mark and answer questions proudly when asked about it. (And i'm 33.)

I already have two tattoos, and sadly I can't get anymore until I move out. I already have two, a peace sign on the top of my left wrist (which I ended up telling my parents about...they weren't happy, but I got off with just a stern lecture about how I better not get anymore until I move out) and 'Simon' on the top of my right wrist (quotes included).
The next one I get will most definitely be HP themed, but it would have to be kinda small and/or relatively hidden from view in general because I want to be a teacher. I'm leaning towards the Deathly Hallows symbol somewhere like my ankle, real small, or a quote along my lower back.

I got this tattoo feb 11, 2009. i totally love it. it took alittle over 2 hours. It is a wand with a ribbon wrapped around it (something worth fighting for written in the ribbon) and the HP and the golden snitch. and the 3 stars are the stars from the corners of all the books. (i though that was a neat thing to add) the saying comes from the 5th movie. at the very end Harry Ron and Hermonie as they are walking to the train and Harry Says to them "Dumbledore was right about one thing. We have something that Voldermort doesn't have" and ron says "whats that?" Harry says "Something worth fighting for" and the movie ends. I love the saying! it totally fits my life and the rest of the tattoo stands for my love for Harry Potter! Plz let me know what you think about the tattoo. I got this as soon as I urned 18. An apprentice/friend of mine did it so I only paid $150. It is to remind me that there are things worse than death.... and that Harry Potter is awesome. I think I want one more. I'm going to pick one of the illustrations from the heading of each chapter.
