Thanks! I just got it finished a couple weeks ago, and it's finally healed. I am so in love with the shading and this tattoo in general.

Spoiler: show

EDIT: the pic quality is pretty crappy, I had to do it with my phone D:

Woah baby, that's so awesome. I love your interpretation of the Dark Mark. The artist did a fantastic job.

lol thank you

It was so awesome when I went in to get it price checked. Everyone in the shop thought it was a really awesome tattoo idea, and they were all asking what my inspiration was for it. I told them it was a Harry Potter tattoo and all the artists started talking about HP. I loved it.

(plus the artist that did mine was Bulgarian so he was all: "omg wasn't there a Bulgarian in one of them? And he was like a total bad*****." I lol'd)

Yeah, I'm really having difficulty with Wormtail's...the only "proper" thing I can think is, like...a really vague, general line drawing of a rat--like, only JUST detailed enough that you can tell what it is, but not so much that it'll look overdone next to the other three.
Not that I have any idea what THAT would look like...>.>

But, yeah, I think in the meantime until I decide for sure, I'll concentrate most on placement for the HP logo...thinking just above my ankle. Would just have to figure out how to cover it up >.> I'd get SHOT walking into church with a tattoo anyway, and an HP one would just cause a riot.

I've been having a thought, though. The word "Always" [as in, of course, "After all this time?"] in HP font, with a lightning bolt next to it.
OR maybe I could put it with the logo....

Ugh, wayyy too much inspiration. xD

Re: Post Your Potter Tattoos!

im getting my first tat in a couple of months and when i was thinking of what to get it was hard to think of something that i wanted on my skin forever so it had to be something that i love and am passionate about... and what better than a quote from harry potter since it has been a part of my life since i was around 8 and i am now 19.. i am planning on getting the quote "to the well organized mind death is but the next great adventure" on my foot with 7 of the stars that are at the top of every page around it to represent the 7 books... does that sound good?

Re: Post Your Potter Tattoos!

I'm getting my 3rd HP related tattoo in nearly 2 months time(I already have 6 tats in total, 2 of those aren't HP in any way, another kinda is).
It's gonna be a geisha fighting a dragon over the Resurrection Stone with the Elder Wand and Invisibilty Cloak.
It's meant to be in keeping with the Japanese stuff I've already got and the colouring is gonna be done on November 19, the release date for DH1(the outline will be done in October).

Re: Post Your Potter Tattoos!

Oooooohhhhh I have just read this thread from the very begining! It is a shame that alot of the earlier tattoo image links have expired.

I have one tatt (a crown on my thigh), three in planning including my first HP one, so I thought I would share! I am looking to get a white phoenix (Like Dumbledore's Patronus) but I am still deciding the size, and currently I am debating with myself over where to put it. I would LOVE to have it on the back of my hand between my thumb and forefinger...It wouldn't affect my job at all, but you never know what the future holds, and I would hate for it to affect a future oppourtunity. Decisions, decisions.

HPfanNZ, Your new tatt sounds awesome! Where do you get your tatts done? In Wellington? I am looking for a good tattoo artist

I love your ideas and yeah, I get mine done at Tattoo City on Cuba Mall in the Wellington CBD. They're all great people there, in fact I'm having an artist from the UK doing my HP/Japanese piece which is fantastic in my opinion.

Harry Potter Tattoo

Hey Guys! I'm not really sure how this works, but I am just looking for some insight or suggestions.

For my graduation present I went to the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter opening week. So naturally for my 18th birthday I am getting a Harry Potter tattoo.

I am getting the quote: "Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light." ~Steven Kloves (screenplay), Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

The tattoo is going on my side, the same place as Megan Fox's tattoo. So my question to you guys is there any symbols for happiness or light in the either the books or the movies that I'm over looking?

I've already considered a wand performing the lumos charm with the quote in the light, but because the tattoo will be on my side, a straight wand isn't going to work out.

So, HELP! My birthday is on August 14th and I have to figure it out by then!

Thanks everyone!

Re: Harry Potter Tattoo

Sounds like a cool idea. I would offer the silver "put-outer" from Dumbledore is the symbol of light and happiness, as it too Ron to where he was meant to be. But perhaps it is more about light...Maybe it would be a cool idea to have that with balls of light and perhaps a bright Patronus in the background, the best symbol of happiness? In a tattoo, a Patronus can have a white/bluish glow, lots of bright blue and baby blue, and white instead of black lining and form. Good luck!

Re: Post Your Potter Tattoos!

Years ago in the army, I got a chineese dragon and a pheonix tatto in the style of ying yang on my arm. 20 years later the colour is still awesome and people still get goose bumps when they see it, the tattoist was a friend of mine and he did awesome work. shame he passed away before I was able to get my back done.

Re: Post Your Potter Tattoos!

first post here, but I imagine I'll be posting a lot more. Just thought I'd post up some pictures of my work in progress harry potter half sleeve. Doe and stag patronus, hogwarts crest, mark of the deathly hallows, a snitch, and a ravenclaw emblem. Obviously still has a bit of work left, but I'm pretty excited about how it's going so far. Here's pictures of the work in progress.

Another note: After discussing things with my tattoo artist we decided to make the doe and stag in more colors of blue as silver wouldn't have been as easy to make it stand out and most imagery as well as what you see in the movies has a lot of blue pulled into it.

Hi WilliamSnuffles, Welcome to the Forums!

I love the blue starry effect on the Doe and Stag, and the black background really makes them pop out. It looks like it will be AMAZING once it is finished!

Re: Post Your Potter Tattoos!

Hey guys! i just finished reading this thread. I love it and all of your tatoos. I'm getting my first one in a few weeks. My first won't be HP realated but i've been planning a bunch of ideas for HP ones that i'm going to get later and once i get one i'll definately post it here! I also had an idea for the person who was trying to think of Sirius Black tatoos. A trail of pawprints leading up to a wand on the ground with the quote "There are things worth dying for" underneath it. Just thought i'd throw it out there

I'm getting a Dark Mark in November. ;D I'm underage, but my friends brother does them and he said he'd give me one. He's expensive: BUT I'M LUCKY, BECAUSE HE'S GOOD. He has this whole website and stuff. I'm all excited, just in time for DEATHLY HALLOWS! I'll wear my Potter Pride!

Re: Post Your Potter Tattoos!

I love this thread, I'm so glad I found it (by mistake I was actually posting some more poems) I have several tats that, while not actual art from the movies or books, are inspired by subjects within the stories, the first is a green dragon (Welsh Green?) that I have on my right arm (it is actually the second tat I got) in response to my phoenix on my left arm. Here's a pic of the Dragon (sorry it's a bit out of focus total 26 hours over 5 sessions)

tats:

and here's the phoenix on my left arm, again, not originally sought after by the image of Fawkes but the idea of "rebirth" is there since my phoenix is holding a cancer ribbon. I got the tat in honor "rising from the ashes" of my diagnosis of cancer (which I'm remission from currently) and I love the symbol of the phoenix anyway, I designed this tat myself too so i'm really proud of how it turned out......AW
(sorry about the small blood droplets in the pic but its fresh after the last session about 24 hours total over 5 sessions)

Here's a photo of my tattoo:

NGL it hurt so much! I'm glad I did it though. My ex-boyfriend wasn't too pleased about it ... so I broke up with him! He was just not brave enough to get some ink of his own.

this is by far the best snitch tat I've seen, I'm thinking of using one very similar to it for a tat I'm designing for my back that will have the snitch flying under the Deathly Hallows Symbol and in between the words "Master of Death"....AW
Maggie, send pics after you get it done please...

Re: Post Your Potter Tattoos

Sometime this month--possibly next weekend--my friend and I are getting the Deathly Hallows symbol tattooed...but I think that with mine, I want the word "Always" in the HP font--like the kind used for chapters--and a lightning bolt next to it...but I'm not exactly sure how to arrange them...eh, well. We'll see...but omf, I'm excited =D
