Harry Potter and the Phoenix Rising (Chapter 7 and Epilogue is now up a must read!)
Harry Potter
And the Phoenix Rising Chapter 1 It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. So many things have happened through the years. As Harry laid on his bed wide awake touching his scar which has been hurting tremendously the past few nights. Harry’s dreams have become reality. The Department of Mysteries and the Lost Prophecy have been discovered, his godfather has died at the hand of Lord Voldemort, Dumbledore, the only person who could protect Harry, died a month ago. Harry felt alone, like the world was ending. Of course he had his friends but he was afraid that Voldemort would take them at his mercy and kill them. Then there was Professor Snape, the one Dumbledore had trusted, killed the Hogwart’s headmaster without any remorse in his eye. Harry’s anger toward Snape has strengthened even more through the holiday. How could Dumbledore trust someone like Snape, Harry thought while rubbing his forehead. Harry was think about the events of the past year at Hogwarts and the events he has to face in the future. He thought about the battle with Voldemort, Snape, and even the Ministry of Magic, pictures became blurry and words became vague, he soon dozed off to sleep dreaming of things to come, dreaming about his parents who sacrificed themselves for Harry, dreaming about living with Sirius in his house at Number 12 Grimmauld Place… The next morning, Harry woke up to the sound of Hedwig hooting gleefully in his cage at the morning sunrise. The Dursley’s had avoided Harry during his holiday which perfectly suited Harry. No Dudley’s gang beating him up just for the pleasure, no being told to fix breakfast by Uncle Vernon, for they have feared that Albus Dumbledore would be paying them a visit any day like last year. Harry had not told them about the death of the headmaster because after all these years the Dursley’s hated wizards and the wizarding world. Harry among all things was confused at prospect of what he should do. He didn’t want to go back to Hogwarts because he has a duty to hunt down Voldemort’s horcruxes and destroy them before time ran out. He knew he had to do all this but he was dreading it. Then at noon time Harry saw a small owl fly into his room and landed on his desk. It was Pigwidgeon, Ron’s owl. Ron had sent him a letter stating that his mum and dad wanted him to visit the burrow before the start of the new school year. This letter cheered Harry up. The thought of leaving the Dursley’s forever has crossed into his mind. For after this year, he no longer had to stay with the Dursley’s because Dumbledore’s spell would have broken since he has come of age. He would be leaving for the Burrow first thing tomorrow morning. Chapter 2 The next morning came with a loud crash in the living room, Harry woke up feeling excited because he though it might have been Mr. Weasely and Ron coming to save him from the Dursley’s. Harry got up and got dressed. He ran downstairs with his luggage in hand. To his surprise, he wasn’t staring at Mr. Weasely downstairs but Lord Voldemort himself. Had Dumbledore’s spell worn off when he died, Harry thought. “V-V-oldemort”, Harry said. “How did you get in here. I thought you couldn’t enter this house due to Dumbledore’s protective charm.” “How clever to think that” Voldemort said. “Dumbledore was an old fool, he underestimated my true power. Now with him gone, you are no longer protected.” “Now where was I. Oh yes, I have come to seek my revenge on you, Harry. For you have survived by merely a scar on your forehead.” Voldemort said with apprehension in his voice. “Harry this is your last stand. You will truly see my power and thus you will die. Avada Kedavra” Aunt Petunia, above all people, jumped as soon as this death curse was recited and protected Harry from being hit. She landed on the floor with her eyes wide open, pale as ever. She saved Harry. Harry shouted “Stupefy”. It missed Voldemort and he escape with the snap of his fingers. He was gone. Harry could have killed him but missed his only opportunity. The battle has begun, Voldemort will be killed for what he has caused. The pain and suffering of hundreds of people will not go unnoticed. Uncle Vernon knelt by Petunia grasping her hand in hopes of waking her up. She would not move. Harry’s uncle now red in the face, looked at Harry and said angrily, “Boy, get out of this house now! You killed my wife, you killed her!” Harry was astounded by the accusation. After all, Uncle Vernon saw Voldemort kill his wife with his own two eyes and still found that Harry was the culprit. Harry saw tears in his uncle’s eyes, trying to revive Petunia. Harry has never seen his uncle cry in all these years and now his uncle was crying uncontrollably. For some strange reason, Harry felt pity for his uncle. But what choice does have now. He has to leave Privet Drive for good. Harry grabbed his belongings and dashed out of the front. When he ran down the pathway he bumped into Mr. Weasley walking to the door. “Hi, Harry,” Mr. Weasley said. “Mr. Weasley, please help me. I don’t know what to do. I am confused,” said Harry. “I know,” Mr. Weasley said smoothly. “I saw You-Know-Who fleeing from your chimney as I pulled up in the Ministry’s car.” “What should I do? I am lost. How come Voldemort visited me? How come my aunt saved me? What does this all mean?” Harry said with tears trickling down his face. Harry was in shock. He looked as pale as the moon. “We will talk about this as soon as get back to the burrow, Harry. Now is not the time or place to talk about such matters,” said Mr. Weasley, very concerned. Harry and Mr. Weasley jumped into the blue Ford Anglia and headed up into the sky. Soon Harry would be seeing Ron. He need his best friend to talk to. Someone who would listen and tell him everything will be alright. For Harry knows what lies ahead. He is entering the time where he needs to hunt down Voldemort and kill him, not only to save the world from such a horrible monster but to save himself, to learn his past, and to revenge the death of his parents. To be continued... Last edited by thiberjam; July 29th, 2006 at 7:53 pm. |

Re: Harry Potter and the Phoenix Rising
Chapter 3
Harry and Mr. Weasley arrived at the burrow before sunset. When they got there, Ron, Ginny, Hermoine, and Mrs. Weasley were all waiting outside for his arrival. Harry, for a long time, considered the burrow his home, a place where he felt welcomed. But for the first time he didn’t know where was home because he is no longer safe anywhere he goes. Harry knows Voldemort will hunt him down to his grave. Ron and Hermoine saw the worried look in Harry’s face. They saw that Harry had been crying. They ran up to him. Hermoine wrapped her arms around Harry’s shoulders clinging on to him. “Harry, are you ok?” asked Ron, sounding worried. Harry replied, “ No, I am not okay. I need to talk to you and Hermoine privately.” Harry and his friends hurried up to Ron’s room where they could talk privately. Harry began to open his mouth when Hermoine let out a big whimper. “I thought you might have been killed, Harry!” cried Hermoine. “I almost would have but my Aunt saved me” said Harry. “What exactly happened?” asked Ron. Harry started to recount what happened back at Privet Drive to Ron and Hermoine. Hermoine let out a big gasp. “Are you okay?” asked Ron to Hermoine. Hermoine, her face covered with fear, was looking rather pale. She couldn’t believe what she had just heard. Voldemort in Harry’s house, Harry’s aunt protecting him, being blamed for his aunt’s death by his uncle. This was all too much to take in. But yet, Hermoine seemed like this was inevitable. “I knew Voldemort would be searching for you soon,” said Hermoine, “but I didn’t think he would try to attack you inside your own house. I thought Dumbledore had a protective charm on it.” “I thought so too,” said Harry, “but Voldemort said, with Dumbledore dead, the spells and protections Dumbledore had installed no longer work.” “This is a very frightening thought,” said Hermoine. “What are we going to do now,” added Ron. “I don’t know,” continued Harry very anxiously. “I can’t go back to Hogwarts. I can’t even go back to Privet Drive. Maybe I can go back to Number 12 Grimmauld Place.” “Dad said that Lupin and Moody asked him if he wouldn’t mind moving back into Grimmauld Place for protection of the rest of the family and that includes you, Harry,” said Ron excitedly. “You will have better protection there with Moody, Tonks, and Lupin at your side. I think that is a very, very good idea,” added Hermoine intuitively. “Dad said we could leave in two days, first he has to take care of a few things around the ministry and mum wants to do a few things around the house first.” The next two days were extremely long for Harry. He was always looking around making sure Voldemort would not show his face while he was at the burrow. Harry, Ron, and Hermoine helped Mrs. Weasely around the house, cleaning and degnoming the front yard. On the night before Harry was to set out for Number 12 Grimmauld Place, he had a dream. The dream consisted of Voldemort slithering as a snake outside of the burrow trying to spy on him. When Harry woke up the next morning, his scar was searing in pain on his forehead. Voldemort knows where I am going, he is going to follow me there, thought Harry. When he found Ron and Hermoine in the kitchen eating breakfast, he told them about the dream he had had last night. Hermoine said, “Ignore the dreams Harry, Voldemort is only trying to trick you. Close your mind.” After breakfast, the trio went upstairs to pack, getting ready to leave the burrow for Grimmauld Place. After they packed, they rushed downstairs to meet the rest of the Weasleys. They left taking the blue Ford Anglia to avoid any suspicion among the muggles. When they arrived at Number 12 Grimmauld Place, the headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix, Remus Lupin, Mad-Eye Moody, and Nymphadora Tonks were already there awaiting their arrival. They rushed inside the old musty house which belonged to Sirius Black, Harry’s godfather, who was murdered two years ago by his cousin Bellatrix Lestrange. The house still looked the same as it had the last time Harry stayed there. The portrait of Sirius’s mother was still covered up with an old red curtain that was showing signs of age, swaying in the wind as the door to the house opened. As Harry entered he saw the curtain swaying and it reminded him of the black veil that engulfed Sirius after his cousin killed him. Lupin was the first to see Harry walking in and as he did so he rushed to Harry’s side and helped him with his belongings. Lupin asked in worrisome expression, “Are you okay, Harry? I have been so worried about you. Don’t worry you will be safe here with Moody and Tonks around. They will protect you from any harm that you may encounter.” “Professor Lupin,” asked Harry “how did Voldemort try to attack me inside the Dursley’s house?” “Harry,” Lupin said with uneasiness in his voice, “since Dumbledore died, his protective charm was removed from the house, you know longer are protected by any of his charms or spells. The blood bond that Dumbledore created between you and your aunt weakened incredibly. Therefore, Voldemort could easily get to you. But if it wasn’t for your Aunt you would have died. I am still baffled by the decision of your Aunt to save you. We may never know the real reason why she did it.” “Harry,” continued Professor Lupin, “have you given any thought about searching for Voldemort’s horcruxes?” “No I haven’t, professor,” lied Harry. Horcruxes were Voldemort’s way of regaining power and Harry hadn’t forgotten what Dumbledore told him last term at Hogwarts. He knew he had to set off for this dangerous venture but didn’t know how and when to do it. Harry knew that a few horcruxes have already been destroyed, the diary of Tom Riddle, has been destroyed during Harry’s second year at Hogwarts and Professor Quirrel was defeated during Harry’s first year. “Well Harry,” said Professor Lupin, trying to sound cheerful, “the Order of the Phoenix will try to help you to the best of our ability.” “No,” said Harry, “I have to fight Voldemort myself. I must do it alone.” “We are coming too, Harry. You can’t stop us,” fought Ron and Hermoine. “You can’t come. Only I can defeat Voldemort,” Harry said “You think after all these years we have stood by you. We helped you retrieve the sorceror’s stone, helped you find the Chamber of Secrets, we were with you when you learned that Sirius Black was your godfather and became innocent of betraying your mother and father. We also fought by your side in the Ministry of Magic, when You-Know-Who’s death eaters appeared. I think we can be of some help during this battle. Don’t you agree Hermoine?” asked Ron. “Yes, I definitely agree Ron. We are going with you no matter what,” said Hermoine strongly. “But…But…Ok, then we will leave first thing tomorrow,” Harry said rather nervously. “I think I have an idea of what one of Voldemort’s horcruxes can be,” said Harry, turning toward Moody, “I think Nagini, Voldemort’s snake, is one. Last I saw her was in a dream up at the Shrieking Shack, where Frank Bryce was murdered by Voldemort.” “She probably is long gone from there,” added Mad-Eye Moody in a gruffy voice with his eye swirling around making Harry queasy. “I believe that she will be with Voldemort where ever he goes.” “Then where do we begin to look for her,” asked Harry. “I have hunch we will find Voldemort and Nagini at the graveyard where you first met Voldemort in human form, Harry,” said Lupin. “First we must find a way to get there. I believe we can set up a portkey for you that will take you to that very graveyard that you visited three years ago. We will have the portkey ready for you tomorrow, but now it is time for all three of you to rest up because you have a long day awaiting for you tomorrow.” Harry, Ron, and Hermoine went up the stairs to the bedrooms to fall asleep. Harry was too excited to sleep though. He thought about the final battle with Voldemort, the end of an era and it will be all over tomorrow. Then he could finally live at peace without knowing Voldemort is still out there trying to kill him. |

Re: Harry Potter and the Phoenix Rising (Chapter 3 is now up)
Chapter 4
The next morning, Harry laid wide awake in his bed staring at the ceiling, thinking of things to come, thinking of life after Voldemort. He also began to think about his career, becoming an auror. Aurors are people who chase after dark wizards. They are usually the best at what they do. While he was lying their on his bed thinking, he heard a strange sound next to his bed. It was a static-like sound. Harry looked around to see what it was and he saw something coming from the two-way mirror that Sirius had given Harry two years ago. He looked at the mirror and to his surprise there was an image on the mirror. It strangely looked like the image of his godfather. “Harry, Harry,” whispered the mirror. Harry gazed at the mirror and asked, “Sirius, is that you?” “Yes, Harry, yes it is me,” replied Sirius. “Where are you, Sirius? Are you still alive?” asked Harry. “Harry, this will be the last time you see me. For I have died, yes. I am with your parents now, Harry. They want me to tell you that they love you and that today they know you will defeat Voldemort. The strongest thing that can kill Voldemort is love. Remember that Harry. Love conquers evil. Your parents love you, I love you, Harry. No matter where you are we will be watching you. Your eyes, comes from you mother, you want to know why your eyes are so important, Harry, because it is due to the sacrifice that your mother gave. When she jumped in front of you, the last thing Voldemort saw was your mother’s eyes. That is why Voldemort can’t look at you, Harry. You have your mother’s eyes and when Voldemort looks at your eyes he sees the love that your mother had for you. That love destroys Voldemort. Voldemort doesn’t know what love is and has never experienced love himself. Remember that, Harry. If you want to defeat Voldemort you have to use love, sacrifice. Any curse you use, any spell you use is no good unless it contains meaning. In this case love and pity. Yes, Harry, love and pity for Voldemort will be the only way to defeat him. Harry, now is the time you must be going. I will be watching over you. I wish you never had to face this, but it is only you that can defeat Voldemort. Goodbye, Harry.” As Sirius’s image drifted away from the mirror, Harry had tears trickling down his cheek. He was scared now more than ever. He knew what he had to do. He wished his godfather could be next to him in person. Harry got up and got dressed. His heart was pounding. He didn’t want to do this but he had to. He went downstairs and met Ron and Hermoine, who were already awake and about to eat breakfast. Harry didn’t want to tell Ron and Hermoine what happened in the bedroom for he was too scared and it would only pain him more to repeat what Sirius had said. Lupin came walking into the kitchen saying, “The portkey is all setup. It is in the form of a rubber duck, Harry. It is waiting for you in the living room. After you have all eaten, I think it would be best for you to go.” After breakfast, Harry, Ron, and Hermoine said their goodbyes to Professor Lupin, Moody, and Tonks and headed toward the rubber duck in the living room. As the trio were about to touch the rubber duck to enter the final confrontation, Lupin said, “Good luck, you three. We love you and we all are praying for you. We know you have the strength, the strength of three is much stronger than the strength of one. The bonds of friendship gives you that strength you need to carry on one of the greatest feats that no other wizard has had to endure in their lifetime. We know you will succeed, the whole wizarding world is counting on you. You better grab the portkey now before it is too late.” The trio touched the portkey at the same time and as soon as they touched the room started spinning. They were being lifted off of the ground spinning in the air. Harry was feeling dizzy and nauscious. A second later they landed on the ground of what appeared to be the graveyard. “No more turning back,” said Ron. “We are with you till the end,” added Hermoine. “Thanks,” said Harry standing up off the ground facing the graves that layered the graveyard. As soon as they all were standing they looked around the graveyard. All they could see were rows and rows of graves. Harry looked around at each grave and the all seem to be dedicated to the death eaters and dark wizards that Voldemort had recruited during his reign of terror seventeen years ago. The graveyard gave Harry a weird feeling in the pit of his stomach, a feeling that they are not alone. All of a sudden Harry saw charcoal black smoke coming out of each of the grave. As the smoke was rising, it was taking form of people, in death eaters masks. Harry, Ron, and Hermoine backed in to each other and were surrounded by dead dark wizards and death eaters. The trio had their wands out at the ready. Harry shouted “Expecto Patronum.” As soon as Harry shouted these words, a bright light shot out of Harry’s wand. The light took form as a stag that he saw when he saved Sirius from the dementors. Harry’s patronus protected the three from these ghostly death eater from coming any closer, but it couldn’t get rid of them. Out of the darkness rose a black-hooded figure, whose fingers where long and bony. The wind has ceased to exist and not a sound could be heard in the sky. When Harry looked over he screamed, “Voldemort!”

Re: Harry Potter and the Phoenix Rising (Chapter 4 is now up)
Chapter 5
“It is I, Harry, your time has now come,” said Voldemort cooly. “I will destroy you and your wretched friends. I have been longing this day for seventeen years now.” Voldemort’s face was now clearly seen. His eyes were a blood red color and shaped like slits of a snake about to attack. For the darkest hour has arrived. The hour that can change the world. “We must not give up hope now,” said Ron. Ron glanced to his side and saw a dark green snake slithering toward him. He realized that this was Nagini, the last horcrux. He pulled out his wand and shouted “Sectumsempra.” When this curse hit the snake, the snake bursted with blood and hissed to it’s sudden death. Ron remembered this spell from last year, when Harry cast it upon Draco Malfoy. Ron has destroyed this last horcrux. When Voldemort saw his snake, Nagini, lying there in a pool of blood, he let out a moaning pain of “Noooooooooooooooooo! This cannot be. You might have destroyed my snake but you cannot destroy me. I am the most powerful wizard in the world.” At this moment Hermoine, fled next Ron to see if he was okay. Ron had this expression of horror on his face. When Hermoine was clinging on to Ron, Voldemort turned his wand on them and shouted “Avada Kedavra”. Harry shouted, “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!”, and dashed in front of them. He hit the ground with the expression of death on his face. Voldemort laughed, “Ha Ha Ha, I have killed you at last Harry Potter!” At this very moment, Voldemort felt a bursting sensation spreading through his veins. Voldemort screamed, “What is this magic!” The white light continued throughout his body. His whole body shattered into millions of pieces. It was over, Voldemort has been conquered. Strands of pearly white smoke appeared where Voldemort was standing just seconds before. These strands of smoke took the images of Lily Potter, James Potter, and Cederic Diggory. These were the people Voldemort had killed. They walked over toward Harry and stared down at him. A faint voice cam from Lilly Potter’s image, “Harry, son, I love you. You can come home now. You have fought a brave fight. You are a true hero.” Another faint voice came from James Potter, “Son, just let go. You won. You can now live in peace.” The image of Cederic added, “Harry, you saved us all from an evil that empowered this world. You are now free.” After these last word a strand of smoke erupted from Harry’s body. Harry was released from his body now. He walked over to his mother and father and hugged them. As they hugged, the apparitions vanished into the foggy mist of the grave yard. A drop of rain fell on Harry’s cheek as he lied there motionless. Ron and Hermoine bent before him to see if he was okay. They shook Harry to try and wake him up but Harry wouldn’t move. Hermoine looked up in the sky and saw a red, fiery bird flying up above. The bird soared through the sky landing right next to Harry. The bird appeared to be Dumbledore’s phoenix, Fawkes. The phoenix extended it’s head over Harry’s heart, sheading a tear on it in hopes of healing him. As the tear dropped, it splattered right on his heart. The phoenix’s tears are able to heal open wounds but Harry’s wound was deeper than anyone can see. Once the tear dropped nothing happened. Harry was dead. The tear of a phoenix cannot heal the dead. Hermoine let out a scream of desperation, “Noooo! Harry please wake up. We need you. I love you Harry. It is over Voldemort’s dead. You can wake up now.” But Harry would not wake up. He still laid there motionless. Ron had a blank pale face. He couldn’t believe what happened. He was scared. “Harry, please wake up. You weren’t suppose to go like this,” Ron said with tears forming at his eye. Ron and Hermoine bent over Harry clinging on to him for one last hope. Their tears have now soaked Harry’s body. The rain was starting. It was an excruciating cold rain. Ron pulled out his wand and whimpered, “Accio Rubber duck”. Ron grasped the rubber duck while clinging on to Harry and Hermoine. The rubber duck brought them back to Grimmauld Place. To be continued...

Re: Harry Potter and the Phoenix Rising (Chapter 5 is now up)
Chapter 6
When Ron and Hermoine appeared back in the living room at Number 12 Grimmauld Place clinging on to Harry’s cold body, Lupin, Moody, Tonks, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, and Ginny Weasley ran to them in expressions of horror. Lupin asked “What happened?” Hermoine explained since Ron could not muster a word out of his mouth, he was still in shock. “Harry sacrificed himself to kill Voldemort.” Tears started to stroll down everyone’s face. “Harry was to young to die, he was just a kid. How could something like this have happened,” said Mrs. Weasley bursting into tears now. Ron was still looking shocked but now came around and blurted out, “It should have been me, it should have been me, Voldemort aimed the curse at me. It is not fair, Harry didn’t have to die. It is all my fault he is dead.” “Don’t blame yourself, Ron. It is not your fault,” comforted Hermoine. “Harry made the ultimate sacrifice, sacrificing himself out of love, love for his friends, love for the wizarding world, and love for his parents. His love was so strong that Voldemort could not comprehend. His life will become legend. He was surely the chosen one, the only one that could rid us of this evil. He fulfilled the prophecy,” said Lupin hugging Mrs. Weasley. “Look, Harry’s lightning bolt scar has disappeared,” Hermoine said astonished. “Harry’s expression looks so peaceful, he must be in a place that he can truly call home now.” The next morning came awfully quickly. This was the first sunrise without Harry. The sky was a dark pink. A new dawn was rising. This was the beginning of new era. Also this morning was the morning of Harry’s funeral. Everybody in Grimmauld place was getting ready to attend it. “I don’t think I can go through with this,” said Ron telling Hermoine as they were walking down the stairs. “Ron, we must be strong, that is what Harry would have wanted. We should remember his life not his death. He died saving all of us,” Hermoine replied to Ron with tears now forming at her eye once again. Ron and Hermoine greeted the others in the kitchen for breakfast. Once they had finished eating they would set off for Hogwarts where the funeral was to be held. They got from their chairs and walked toward the doorway. Lupin opened the door for everybody looking around thinking this will be the last time they ever have to set foot in Grimmauld place. For now they were safe in the world. Once everybody stepped outside, Lupin took one last look and closed the door and set off toward Hogwarts.

Re: Harry Potter and the Phoenix Rising (Chapter 6 is now up a must read!)
Chapter 7
Hogwarts was decorated all in black, to mourn in the loss of Harry Potter. Harry’s picture was hanging in the Great Hall. The Great Hall bore Harry’s casket which was open for visitors to take one last look at the infamous boy who lived. As the crowd started to pour into the Great Hall getting ready for the funeral to start, Professor Minerva McGonagall stood up as to greet the incoming crowd with a welcoming speech, “I would like to welcome you all to Hogwarts to pay your last respects to Harry Potter. Harry was a student here at Hogwarts as all of you know. While here at Hogwarts he was placed into the Gryffindor House of which I was the head. Harry was the true heir of Gryffindor. He possessed bravery, courage, strength, and bonds of friendship beyond his years. He would have made his parents proud. Albus Dumbledore, the former headmaster of Hogwarts, would certainly be proud of what he has accompolished these last few weeks. Harry will surely be missed,” Professor McGonagall said blowing her nose. As she stepped down from the podium, Ron came scurrying down the aisle to make a speech and to pay his last respects to his best friend. “Harry was my best friend,” Ron said with his face turning red like he had been crying, “I first met him on the Hogwarts Express seven years ago, and from that moment I knew he would change the world. Harry had an eagerness about him that most wizards do not possess. We became friends instantly, and to this day he has become a part of my family. I am going to miss you Harry. I hope you have found peace wherever you are.” Ron had tears trickling down his cheek. He could barely stand, but he was able to make his way back down to his seat. As soon as Ron sat down, he looked up to the ceiling of the Great Hall and saw Fawkes, the phoenix, flying over head. The phoenix glided across the Great Hall and landed next to Harry’s casket. Fawkes was looking into Harry’s eyes. A tear formed out of the corner of the phoenix’s eye and fell onto Harry’s cheek. At this very precise moment clouds began rolling into the Great Hall. There was a loud clap of thunder and a flash of lightning. A drop of rain made its way down from the ceiling dropping on Harry’s casket. That drop of rain turned into two and two turned into three; then the clouds broke onto the crowd as it began pouring rain in the Great Hall. The heavens were mourning the loss of the greatest wizard of our time, Harry Potter, the boy who lived and who died saving the world. The phoenix rose from the casket transforming itself into this huge majestic bird singing a new song. The song rushed through the Great Hall spreading hope and new life among many. Fawkes’ song broke into the hearts of many in the Great Hall that day. Tears flowed from every person sitting there. Many were tears of mourning, others were tears of a new beginning. For the death of Harry Potter was just the new beginning of life. After the phoenix finished its song, it burst into flames turning the phoenix into ash and from that ash poked out a little head, the head of a newborn phoenix, chirping loudly and joyously for the life cycle continues and new life has been given in wake of Harry's death. Epilogue As the phoenix rises from the ash, new birth has been given to another phoenix. The phoenix passes on this tradition for eternity. The phoenix also possesses extraordinary healing powers. You see, the phoenix tears help heal any wound that one should encounter who possesses a good and true heart. The phoenix cries for those who are in pain but yet the tears of the phoenix, no matter how powerful they are, cannot bring back people from the dead. The phoenix could not bring back Harry but in the wake of Harry’s death it brought new life, a new hope for the future. The phoenix is an extraordinary creature whose song rings out for all to hear. This song brought new hope to the wizarding world for Harry destroyed Voldemort’s reign of terror through his sacrifice for his friends. The phoenix rises as the old one fades away. The phoenix rises before the sun sets bringing new hope for everyone who sees it. The phoenix lives in each of us yearning to spread new hope and new joy. But the fire can slowly diminish if we give in to the false hope that spreads through pain and suffering. That false hope opens up a whole new dimension of evil and wickedness. That is how Voldemort came into power. He resisted the phoenix and feared the phoenix because the phoenix dies. But what he didn’t know was that the phoenix rises again bringing new life. Harry showed love for his friends and sacrificed himself for them just like his mother did. This is the strongest power in the world that would overcome any obstacle. Out of his sacrifice sprang a new life. One year later, Hermoine and Ron bore a child. They named him Harry, after Harry Potter, the boy who lived. This begins a new life cycle that will always continue till the end of time. Harry’s sacrifice became legend through the years. Every child has read of his story of love, sacrifice, and friendship. This story should not die out like a candle in the wind but should burn on throughout eternity. Here ends the chapter of the life and death of Harry James Potter, the boy who lived.
