Without Love
Okay, so this is my first fan fic and I suppose it's okay. Everyone that's read it said it was good, so here goes nothing... I'll post the first two chapters for you.
Ch. 1 Ron Weasley, a tall, red haired and severely freckled boy of 17 wandered down the hall of his house. He passed by his twin brothers’ room and heard noises coming from inside it; giggling and tiny explosions. He assumed the pair was creating a new type of joke toy, except for one thing: the giggling was coming from a girl. Not wanting to get involved, Ron continued to walk along the hall. He passed his younger sister Ginny’s room and heard soft snoring, which told him she was asleep. He finally passed his parent’s room where he heard dead silence; though the door was open a crack. He peered through the crack and saw his parents fast asleep, breathing rhythmically. He sighed in relief and proceeded down the stairs, skipping a few to avoid making noise from them squeaking. He entered their living room to see the back of the head of a girl with brown bushy hair. He smiled softly and snuck up behind her. He grabbed her shoulders gently and whispered into her ear. “Boo!” he whispered before planting a soft kiss on her cheek. He jumped over the back of the couch and sat next to her. He gently stroked her arm and smiled at her in the darkness. “How was your day?” he asked the girl. “It was okay, but just okay. It’s good now, however, because you’re with me” The girl said. She brushed her hair out of her eyes. The girl, named Hermione, had large brown eyes that twinkled though the darkness. “Where are we going tonight?” she asked Ron. Ron grinned and said “Somewhere out by the field I use to practice Quidditch.” He stood up and offered his hand to Hermione. He helped her up off of the couch and, wrapping his arm around her waist, led her out the door quietly. The couple wandered along a small country walk in the moonlight, smiling at each other. They arrived at the field in several minutes’ time and proceeded over to a tree shrouded clearing jus off to the site of the field. The moonlight shone through the leaves on the trees, casting shadows on the faces of the couple. Ron sat down in the grass, leaning his back up against one of the trees. He reached his arms out to help Hermione down into his lap. He smiled at her and kissed her romantically. Hermione, breath taken by the kiss, kissed Ron back. They fell to the ground after a moment. Pulling up for air, Hermione gazed into Ron’s eyes, which were twinkling in the moonlight. She smiled sweetly at him before dropping her head onto his shoulder, resting. “I’ve missed you so much” she whispered in his ear. She had gone to the Caribbean with her parents for a week and hadn’t been able to see Ron in that time. “I’ve missed you too” Ron said, lifting Hermione’s chin and gazing into her eyes. He kissed her again, though briefly, before flipping her onto her back. “I’ve got you now” he said cunningly. He wrapped his arms around her back and held her close. “Thank goodness we don’t have to go back to school this year” he thought to himself, “Or I’d never get any alone time with her.” They had graduated from Hogwarts the previous June, where Ron had asked Hermione if she would become a part of his life, even if only for a short time. Deep inside his heart, he knew he wanted to be with her forever, but he was going to leave that decision up to Hermione. The couple hadn’t told Harry, their other best friend, about their dating, as his reaction would not be too pleasant. Ron went to kiss Hermione but she turned her head, causing Ron’s lips to land on her ear. He picked up his head and looked funnily at her. “Ron, I’ve been thinking and maybe we should tell Harry before he finds out” she said to him. Ron pondered this thought for a moment before saying “You have a point, but why are you bringing this up now?” He was confused what would make Hermione think of Harry at a time like this, where they were completely alone. “Because when we arrived back this afternoon, I ran into Harry at the train station. He was alone and had his trunk. He said something that really confused me. ‘Hermione, you’ve been a great friend, really, but apparently I’m just no match for Ron.’” Hermione explained. “Then he hopped aboard the nearest train, which was headed for Scotland. When could he have seen us, Ron?” Ron’s face turned from confusion to worry. “Hermione, remember last week, before you left, we were out here and we heard someone moving in the trees?” he asked her. He waited for her to nod before continuing. “What if that was Harry. I’ve heard from other people that he went a little crazy after killing You-Know-Who. Maybe he didn’t realize where he was until he saw us.” Hermione looked shocked and worried at the same time. “Ron, we need to find him.” She said. She remembered that night vividly in her mind, including when she heard the twig crack, dead silence, and then feet moving fast in the opposite direction. Nodding, Ron said “Of course we will. But for now, lets just enjoy each other’s company.” He smiled at her before kissing her, hugging her close. He pulled away from the kiss and simply hugged her, laying there. He let her roll him over so the two of them were lying on their sides. “This is so great” Ron whispered to her. He closed his eyes, which was only meant to be for a moment, but ended falling asleep there with Hermione. The morning sun rose over the trees bordering the practice field, shining in Ron’s eyes. They fluttered open, though only slightly before he shut them tight again, wanting to fall back asleep. He then realized where he was, feeling Hermione’s arms around him, her warm breath on his cheek. He gently shook her shoulder whispering, “Sweetie, wake up, we slept all night out here.” Hermione slowly opened her eyes and gazed into Ron’s. “Ron, let’s never leave here.” She said quietly. She then remembered their conversation from the night before. She sat up quickly, causing Ron to fall to the grass with a soft thud. She smiled softly at him and helped him up into a sitting position. “Let’s find Harry first though” she said. She slowly stood up and helped Ron up. Ron stood there for a moment, trying to get his bearings. He looked at his watch. Its dial read 7:30 am. “It should be early enough that no one will be awake. You could come back up to the house with me if you want, to get some breakfast,” he said to Hermione. Hermione nodded and the two of them walked the path to the Burrow in silence, the backs of their necks absorbing all of the fresh morning sun. They reached the house and quietly opened the door, shutting it quietly behind them. They both sighed in relief that no one was awake or at least downstairs yet. There was a bowl on the table that had pieced of various fruits, and another bowl next to it that had pieces of French bread that Mrs. Weasley had baked the day before. They each took an apple and a piece of bread before walking over to the couch and sitting down. They ate their food in silence for fear of waking someone in the house. “Well, well, well, who to we have here?” they heard someone say behind them. They turned around to see Fred, Ron’s older brother who, too, had flaming red hair and too many freckles, grinning evilly. A girl appeared behind him. She was tall; dark skinned, and had black hair. Angelina Johnson. Ron raised his eyebrows at his brother. “I could be asking you the same question” he said, eyeing Angelina. “Is that the giggling I heard last night?” he asked Fred. Fred’s face flushed. He turned to Angelina and back to Ron. “Look, it’s my life, so butt out!” he said in rather poor defense. “Why’s she here?” he nodded towards Hermione whose face remained shocked, apple halfway to her mouth. “Hey, Hermione, might want to watch your food” he said, pointing at her apple, laughing. Hermione turned a shade of pink and resumed her eating, trying to keep out of the conversation. She turned back around on the couch, ignoring the conversation going on. Ron shrugged. “What, she’s not allowed to be hear early?” he asked Fred, though he had the strange feeling that his brother saw him and Hermione walking back from the field. “She came earlier this morning to watch me practice my Quidditch” he said, covering up anything Fred may have seen. “And who says I saw you at the field?” Fred asked, though he had seen them walking back. “I didn’t see any brooms in the air at all this morning. Tisk, tisk, what on earth will mum think when she finds out her Ickle Ronniekins was out last night in the field with a girl.” An evil grin found its way across Fred’s face. Ron, too, was grinning evilly. “Um, Fred, need I remind you that you two were actually in the house” he said, “And were making a rather lot of noise. I think if any stories are believed, it will be mine.” He smirked at his brother before standing up. He grabbed Hermione’s wrist and gently pulled her up. “Come on” he said to her, “We should probably be off.” The two of them walked out the front door and down the front walk. Ron looked at Hermione and asked “Where do you think he would have gone?” “I don’t know. I think the best thing to do would be to just apparate around Scotland until we find him.” Hermione said. Her face looked from deep in thought to realization. “The train!” she exclaimed, “The train was heading to Edinburgh, Scotland!” “It’s a start” Ron said, “lets get going.” He gave her a brief kiss before taking her hand and apparating.

Re: Without Love
Ch. 2
Ron and Hermione ran around Edinburgh for several hours, asking various people if they had seen Harry, showing them a picture of him. They got plenty of odd looks from Muggles due to their wizarding apparel. Ron had on a set of deep forest green robes and Hermione dark purple. They knew fellow wizards when they were greeted in a friendly way. After walking several miles, apparating a few times, and getting several scares thinking Muggles saw them, they finally ended up at the hotel that they were pointed to. They walked in and headed over to the receptionist, a tired looking teenaged girl. “Hello, excuse us.” Ron said, “But is there a Harry Potter staying in one of your rooms?” he asked, trying to catch his breath at the same time. The receptionist shrugged and yawned. “Hold on a second, I’ll look” she said before she began typing on a computer, something Ron had never seen before. He looked at it with a fascinated look on his face. Hermione elbowed him hard. “Ah, here it is.” The girl said. “He’s in room 110, on the next floor up.” “Thank you very much” Hermione said politely. She waved at the girl before grabbing Ron’s wrist and pulling him towards the staircase, knowing the elevator would be too much Muggle for him to handle. She pushed the door open and walked up one floor. Ron looked at her confused. “Hermione, where are we going?” he asked her. He followed her quickly along the hall where he noticed she was reading the room numbers. He glanced far ahead and saw a door with the number 110 nailed to it. “Um… is that the room?” he asked her. Hermione nodded and ran the rest of the length of the hallway. She stopped just before Harry’s door and took a few moments to clean herself off and catch her breath. In those few moments she looked around the area of the hotel they were in. “Wow” she whispered to Ron, “This is pretty gross.” She took in dirty walls, low drop ceilings, and a hole in the baseboard that looked oddly like a mouse hole. “Let’s get this over with” she said to Ron. She knocked on the door to the room and waited. After a few moments, the lock on the other side of the door turned and the door opened a crack. Harry Potter’s emerald green eye appeared through the crack and his voice, that sounded a little off, asked “Who… who’s there?” “Harry, it’s me,” Hermione said, “Hermione, and Ron.” She glanced at Ron, a worried look on her face. “Can we please come in for a minute or two, we need to talk.” Harry groaned. “Ugh… fine if you really need to that bad.” He said. He closed the door and undid the chair that was holding the door shut. He opened the door again, this time all the way, and let the couple in. Closing the door behind him, he walked back over to his bed and sat down. “What do you want?” he asked them. Hermione and Ron sat in two chairs that were in the room, facing Harry. For the first time they got a good look at him. His hair looked even messier than when they had both last seen him at graduation, if that was even possible. His skin looked excessively pale, and his skin like it was merely stretched over his bones. “Oh Harry, what have you done to yourself?” Hermione asked, sounding extremely worried as she took in his scruffy appearance. “What do you mean?” Harry asked, sounding angry. “Why are you two here?” “Harry, we came to find out what’s going on with you” Ron explained. “Why did you leave? What happened?” he asked, sounding just as worried as Hermione. “Oh shut up Ron, you know exactly what’s wrong” he said, his voice jumping between anger and calmness. “I saw you two that night. And don’t try and act stupid, I know what I saw.” Hermione glanced at Ron before returning her focus to Harry. “We know you saw us, but that’s no reason to leave. We thought you liked Ginny any way.” She added, trying to make Harry feel guilty for leaving. It seemed to be working because Harry’s face fell, he looked sad. “Ginny…” he muttered to himself, missing her. He did really like her. He missed her too. And now that Voldemort was gone, he could safely be with her. “Yeah, I do like her, but that doesn’t give you two an excuse.” He said. Ron sighed hopelessly. “Harry, just come home again, please? Ginny’s been acting weird since she last saw you. She misses you, Harry.” She really hadn’t been, but if he could get to Ginny before Harry could, he could explain everything and have Ginny put on a good act. Harry felt a melting feeling in his chest, feeling bad that he made Ginny sad. “Okay, I’ll go home, just for her” he said, “But give me time, I need to get my stuff together.” Hermione started to say that they would help him when Ron cut her off. “Okay, Harry, We’ll see you at the Burrow later today then, right?” he asked. Harry nodded slightly before showing Ron and Hermione out. The couple apparated on the spot, not noticing the Muggle cleaning lady who looked at the place they apparated from, and confused look on her face. They arrived back at the Burrow and walked into the room, to see Mrs. Weasley sitting at the Kitchen table, reading the Daily Prophet and drinking a cup of tea. “Hello you two.” She said, noticing them walk in. “Where have you been?” she asked. Ron and Hermione looked at each other and silently, quickly, decided on the truth. “Well, Mrs. Weasley,” Hermione started, but was interrupted by Ron. “Harry hopped a train for England a few days ago, Hermione saw him at King’s Cross, and we went to find him.” They calmly explained everything that happened, though Mrs. Weasley seemed to grow slightly red in the face when they mentioned Harry seeing the two of them near the field. They ignored it and continued explaining. “So you see, mum, Ginny needs to put on the best act as possible, and, if it’s aright with you, Harry stay here for a while.” “Well of course it’s alright with me” Mrs. Weasley said, “You know Harry’s like a son to me” she said. “Let me go and clean out Fred and George’s room for him” she said, rising from the table. Ron reached out a hand to stop his mother. “Uh…mum, I wouldn’t go in there if I were you” he said. He quickly explained what he had heard last night, not going into detail about the argument that took place earlier that morning. “So that’s what I heard last night” Mrs. Weasley said, sounding angry, “I’ll kill him if he does it again. Ron, if you hear anything, I want you to come and wake me immediately, understand?” she said. Ron nodded. Mrs. Weasley proceeded up the stairs, braving what she might find in the twin’s bedroom. As she was put of earshot, Ron turned to Hermione and smirked. “Well, we’re off the hook” he said. Ginny, Ron’s youngest sibling and only sister, walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, she was still wearing her pajamas, a fluffy blue robe, and bed head. She glanced over at the table sleepily and saw Ron sitting there, along with Hermione, though it didn’t register in her head who it was. “Ron, was that you making all that notice last night? I couldn’t sleep a wink” she said. Hermione laughed. “Ginny, it’s Hermione” she said, pointing to herself, “That was Fred.” She shrugged and reached into the fruit bowl, grapping a banana. She tossed it at Ginny and said “Here, eat something, wake up a little bit, but do it fast. We need you” Ginny caught the banana and walked over to a seat at the table. She sat down heavily and unpeeled her banana. She ate it quickly. When she finished it, she tossed the peel across the kitchen where it landed squarely in the sink. “Score!” she said. She turned to Ron and Hermione and asked “So, what do you need me for?” Ron sent himself off into yet another explanation of what had gone on that morning. He then carefully explained to Ginny what she had to do. Ginny’s face had gone from tan and freckled to nearly pale white, including freckles, when she heard about Harry. She never told Ron but she really liked him, more than people thought she did. She nodded when he told her what she needed to do, thinking to herself “This’ll be easy” before jumping out of her chair saying “I need to go get dressed, don’t I?” She darted up the stars and into the shower. Ron and Hermione got up from the kitchen table and walked over to the couch in the living room where they sat and waited for Harry to come home. Ginny soon joined them, hair still wet from her shower, wearing a plain black tank top and jeans. She wasn’t one for dressing to fit the occasion. Mrs. Weasley descended the stairs right behind Ginny, looking slightly tired from cleaning. “Well, the room’s all set for Harry.” She said, sinking into a chair. They sat there in silence for a half an hour or so, growing more and more impatient every minute. Mrs. Weasley eventually got up and said “I’m going to make dinner for everyone. You said he needs food.” Just as Mrs. Weasley walked into the kitchen, there was a faint crack outside and a knock on the front door. “That’ll be him” Hermione said, getting out of her seat and heading to the door. She opened it and let Harry in, who seemed to have attempted to groom his hair, though with great failure. It looked just as messy as usual. He entered the house and set his trunk down on the floor, almost on Hermione’s toes. He saw Ginny who, right on cue, jumped up and ran into his arms, hugging him and holding him close. “Harry” she said, gazing up into his emerald green eyes which she never really noticed were so astonishing before, “I’ve missed you. Never leave again.” She said, speaking truly, though not appearing so to Ron or Hermione. Harry hugged Ginny back and said “Don’t worry, I won’t.” Mrs. Weasley entered the room again not five minutes after she had left. “Harry, dear, so good too see you.” She took in his undernourished, skinny appearance and said “You need food in you, dear.” She lead him, as well as everyone else, into the kitchen where she had prepared a very quick meal of Cheese sandwiches cooked to perfection, tomato soup, and hot tea. “Eat up!” she said, smiling. “Ron, could you help me take Harry’s things to his room?” she asked. Ron nodded and followed his mother out of the kitchen and grabbed Harry’s trunk. Quidditch had made him strong, so lifting this was no problem. He carried the trunk up to Fred and George’s old room and set it on one of the beds. Harry would be sleeping in the other. He then left the room and headed back down the stairs to the kitchen where he saw Harry and Ginny sitting oddly close to each other, even for Ginny’s act. He shrugged and sat down at the table where he helped himself to a half a sandwich. Dinner went by with much attention on Harry, more than he would have liked; Mrs. Weasley fussing about his weight every few minutes and Hermione asking him why he had to choose that hotel of all places. He was, however, glad Ginny was sitting by him. He felt comfortable around her, or at least more comfortable than he did around any other girls besides Hermione. He finished his dinner and excused himself up to his room where he sat on the end of his bed, thinking about Ginny and how bad he felt for leaving her at the end of his sixth yeah. As he sat and wallowed, he heard someone nock on the door jam. He had forgotten to close the door, so that was the only thing to knock on. He saw a shadow of a girl and felt a warm feeling in his chest. Looking up he saw Ginny smiling sweetly at him. He thought she looked beautiful. “Mind if I come in?” Ginny asked. Before Harry could answer she walked in and sat close next to him on the edge of the bed. “Harry, look, I know you’re still sad about the end of my fifth year, but I understand. I know you didn’t want anything to happen to me and I forgive you if you feel the need to apologize.” It looked like Harry was trying to speak but Ginny put a finger up to his lips. “Shh, don’t speak” she said to him softly. Harry sat there, dumbfounded. Ginny’s touch made him feel secure, like he had no more problems in the world. He then felt her lips brush against his cheek. He felt like he could fly to the moon. He smiled at her, the first smile he had given anyone in a long time, and, without realizing what he was doing, returned her kiss, only this time, on her lips. He smiled at her again and said “Thanks, I needed that.” Ginny smiled and said “Any time.” She left the room for a moment and changed into the pajamas. She sat back down next to him and said ""Harry, why did you leave anyway?" she asked him. Harry shrugged. "I really don't know" he said. "I guess I felt like a change of scenery." He pulled Ginny into a hug, though rather quickly, causing the two of them to flop onto the bed entirely. He smiled at her. He gently kissed the top of her head before saying "This is nice." He closes his eyes, trying to savor the moment, and ended up falling asleep, arms around Ginny. Ginny smiled softly as she felt Harry’s warm stray breath on the back of her neck. She closed her eyes and fell asleep as well, not knowing that she had. Please leave feedback! *begs*

Re: Without Love
Ch. 3
Ginny’s eyes opened slowly. She looked around the room she was in, not knowing where she was. She was about to enter a mode of panic when she felt Harry’s arms around her still. She smiled softly and turned around, trying not to stir Harry. She smiled at his sleeping face and gently kissed him. Harry, who was still fast asleep, felt something soft on his lips. He shook his head in an effort to make whatever it was go away. He felt it again and this time, opened his eyes to see Ginny. He smiled softly and kissed her back. “I didn’t know what you were!” he whispered. He kissed her again softly, before hearing a soft knock on the door. He unwound his arms from Ginny and got up to open the door. He opened it only a crack to see who it was. Seeing that it was Ron he sighed in relief and opened the door. Ron walked in and saw Ginny just sitting up in bed. “Oh… sorry…” Ron said, his ears turning red. “I’ll… I’ll just go.” He headed towards the door. Harry stopped him. “Ron, its fine” he said. “Nothing happened. We just fell asleep together.” He looked at Ron’s still unsure face. “You really think I’d do something like that?” he asked. Ron shrugged. “I suppose you’re right,” he said as he went to sit down on an open space on the bed across from Harry’s. “Well, I was going to ask you how your first night back home was but it seems to go without asking” he joked. “Ron!” Ginny half-shouted, sounding appalled that her brother would think such a thing, “If you don’t think Harry would do that, can you at least think I wouldn’t?” she asked him, giving him the puppy dog face that always broke him down. “Oh alright” Ron said, sighing, “But if I catch you two again…” he shook his finger threateningly. “Anyway, Harry, mum wants to see you, she said you need more food in you because you’re so skinny, so I’d get down there before she comes up here and gets you.” Harry nodded and got up, walking out of the room and down the stairs, but not before giving Ginny a small kiss on the cheek, much to Ron’s dismay. He went down the stairs and into the kitchen where he saw Mrs. Weasley sitting at the table along with Hermione and a man with red hair, many scars on his face, and what looked like a snake’s fang hanging from his left ear. “Hey Bill” Harry said to the man as he sat down in front of a large plate of pancakes, sausage, and bacon. “How’s Fleur?” he asked Bill as he ate. Fleur was Bill’s wife. She had long slivery blonde hair, a perfect complexion and was half veela. “She’s good.” Bill said as he too ate. He smirked when he noticed his mother looking at him with a look on her face that said “Tell him already!” He took a deep breath and asked “By the way Harry, did you know that we’re having a baby in a few months’ time? Well, actually, two. They’re twins.” Harry nearly dropped his fork in a mix of surprise and happiness. “Well, I do now” he said, smiling, “Congratulations!” Bill went on, now smiling himself. “Thanks. We were wondering if you would be one of the godparents, along with Ginny” he asked Harry. Nodding, Harry said “Of course I will.” He picked up his fork which he had placed down and continued eating his breakfast in a bit of a rush, smiling now. As soon as he finished he excused himself from the table and ran upstairs, wondering if Ginny had been asked yet. He assumed so since Ginny had been here this whole time and he hadn’t. He entered his room to see Ron and Ginny sitting in his room chatting. “Well, did Bill ask you?” Ginny and Ron both said at the same time before chuckling slightly. “Did he?” Ginny asked. “Yeah, he did” Harry said “And I said yes.” He sat down next to Ginny on the bed and snuggled close to her. He gazed into her eyes, forgetting that Ron was in the room, but saw him walk out of the room quietly. He held Ginny’s hands in his and, looking her in the eyes, asked her “Ginny, so much has happened these past few weeks, and the only thing that has gotten me through it all was the mere thought of you. Ginny, will you do me the honor of going out with me?” He asked this with much power from his emerald green eyes, including some tears he didn’t know were there. Ginny smiled sweetly at Harry. “Of course I will, Harry” she said before leaning in and giving him a soft kiss. “I was waiting for that, you know, considering everything that’s happened since you came back yesterday. I was just waiting for it to be official” She said, smiling. She reached up and gently wiped the stray tears from Harry’s eyes. She slipped her hand in his and held it, squeezing it a little for comfort. “Godparents…” she said quietly. “Yeah, godparents…” Harry said, smiling at her. “Who knows maybe someday real parents?” He said with a small smirk on his face. He knew that wouldn’t be anytime soon but he liked thinking about it. He would love to be married to Ginny, but not yet. He knew that there was too much happening already for him to get married. “Maybe in a year or two” he though to himself, Or so he thought. “Sorry?” Ginny asked. She heard him say something but wasn’t sure what he had said. “Wait, rewind, real parents? Harry, what are you talking about?” she was confused. Sure she liked Harry a lot, enough to marry him even but real parents? When she still had a year of school left? That would never happen. She then realized what Harry had said and felt a warm and fuzzy feeling in her chest. “Oh… nothing” Harry said to her. “Hey, do you mind if I shower and get dressed?” he asked her. He wanted to be with her but he wanted to be clean as well. He saw Ginny nod and got up, grabbing some clothes from his trunk and heading into the bathroom. Ginny watched Harry leave the room and then smiled to herself. She got up and went into her own room where she quickly got dressed and did her hair. When she left her room she saw Harry walking down the hall wearing only a towel. She saw his ears turn red which told her that he saw her out of the corner of his eye. She turned her head and quickly went back into her room where she sat on her bed. She heard a knock at her door a few minutes later. She looked up to see Harry standing there. She smiled and stood up, wrapping her arms around him stomach. “Sorry about that” she whispered into his ear before kissing him. Harry felt his stomach do a back flip when Ginny kissed him. He kissed her back, wrapping his arms around her waist and holding her close. After a few minutes he pulled back and smiled softly, gazing into her warm eyes. He let go of her and walked over to her bed, where he saw a calendar on her wall. He noticed that she would be going back to school in a matter of a few days. He felt his insides sag a little at the thought of having to leave Ginny. Ginny saw Harry looking at her calendar. “I don’t want to go back, Harry, don’t worry. I want to be with you. I never want to leave you, but I have to. I’m so sorry, Harry.” She hugged him and rested her head on his shoulder. “I’ll be back for Christmas holidays though.” She said quietly. She couldn’t wait for then. “Ginny, dear, it’s time to go to Diagon Alley!” Mrs. Weasley shouted from up the stairs. Ginny sighed and stood up, giving Harry one last hug and a kiss before going off to buy her school things. The next few days passed in the same fashion, until it was time for Ginny to say goodbye to her family and go off to Hogwarts. She and Harry stood aboard Platform 9 ¾ as they said goodbye. Harry pulled Ginny into a hug and, resting his forehead on hers, gazed into her eyes as he said “Ginny I’ll be sure to write you every day, I promise,” before he kissed her. “I’ll miss you terribly, but remember that should you need anything, I’m just an owl away.” He gave Ginny another kiss, this time savoring the moment before letting her go. He helped her onto the train with her trunk before leaving the train and standing on the platform, watching her through the window. The train began moving and he saw that Ginny had tears in her eyes as she rolled away towards Hogwarts. I would love some feedback!

Re: Without Love
Ch. 4
Ron paced the floor of his room, nervous about what was about to happen. He stopped in front of the mirror every so often to make sure he looked okay, to brush sweat from his face, or to make sure that he had everything and that his face didn’t give anything away. He heard the doorbell ring from down several floors and took a deep breath. “Well, here goes nothing” he said as he left his room and descended three floors of stairs. He reached the living room and went to the front door. He opened it to see Hermione looking dazzling. She had a floor length dress on that fit her perfectly, hugging her ever curve. The dress was red and sparkly with a bottom that flowed out from her knees. His hair was less tame than usual, and smelled like some kind of hair potion. He smiled at her and held out his arm for her. ”Ready?” he asked her. He felt eyes on the back of his neck and looked around to see his mother smiling at him, teary eyed. She winked at him, sending a tear down her cheek, before turning and walking back into the kitchen. Hermione nodded “Yes, I’m ready. What for, I'm still not quite sure, but I’m ready” she said, smiling. She wove her arm into Ron’s arm and let him lead her down the front walk. Ron looked at her smiling and said “Here we go. Hold on tight!” before he apparated to a fancy restraunt just outside of London. Hermione’s eyes grew wide. “Oh Ron…” was all she could bring herself to say. She had never gone anywhere so nice before in her life. She let Ron lead her into the restraint where they were seated at a somewhat secluded booth in the back of the restraint. The table was candle lit with a small vase on it that had a single red rose in it. She glanced down at the leather bound menu and ran her hand down the dark mahogany table. “Ron this place is beautiful” she said looking up at him, smiling, before she opened the menu to decide what she wanted to eat. She saw the prices of the food and gasped. Ron heard her reaction to the prices, “Don’t worry Hermione,” he said, “and get whatever you want. I have enough. I’ve been saving my sickles and Knuts for a while for this.” He felt his heavy pocket and wished he had changed them in for galleons instead. He shrugged it off and proceeded to look at the menu. A short server walked up to the pair and said “Hello there and welcome! Are you ready for me to take your orders or would you like a few more minutes?” the server asked, looking from Ron to Hermione. Ron glanced at Hermione to see her nod that she was ready to order. They both placed their food and drink orders and the server walked off to get their food. “Are you enjoying yourself?” Ron asked Hermione. Hermione nodded. “Yes, this place is so cute. But I still don’t get why we’re here.” She looked at Ron slightly confused; wanting to know what was going on. “You’ll find out soon enough” he said to her. He felt himself start to sweat again and said “I'm going to run to the washroom for a second.” He got up from the table and walked quickly across the restraint. He opened the door to the washroom and stood in front of the mirror. He looked at himself, realizing that his face was red and flushed. “Calm down Ron” he said to himself, “just calm down, okay?” he wiped the back of his neck which had a lot of sweat on it before dabbing his forehead and neck with ice cold water to cool himself down. He took a few more deep breaths before walking back out to the table. As he opened the door he felt a small square thing push into his chest. He ignored it and went back to the table. The food had arrives already so he sat down and began eating. He had ordered a filet with a side of mashed potatoes. He looked over at Hermione who was already eating and asked “Sweetie, are you enjoying your food?” Hermione looked up and nodded. “Yes, it’s lovely.” She continued eating her chicken parmesan, careful not to spill any sauce on her dress. The couple ate in general silence except for Ron occasionally clearing his throat or excusing himself to go to the washroom to cool down again. He was so nervous and had no clue why. He wanted this more than anything. Finally their desert came and Ron had waited long enough. He noticed Hermione pick up her spoon to eat her ice cream but stopped her. “Wait just one minute.” He said to her before pulling her out of the booth. He made sure she had her balance before taking her right hand and bending onto one knee. “Hermione” he said, gazing up into her brown eyes, “We’ve been through so much together, even though we weren’t actually dating through it. We’ve battled death eaters of every sort and even You-Know-Who himself. Our relationship has grown so strong over these past few years, as well as our love. Hermione, I love you with all my heart and I have a question for you…” he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small black velvet box. He opened it to reveal a dazzling diamond ring. “…will you marry me?” Hermione simply stood there in shock. She wasn’t expecting something like this now. She just thought this was a nice night for the two of them. She stood there for a moment, taking in everything he had said. She took a deep breath and said, smiling, “Yes Ron, of course I’ll marry you.” Ron smiled and smiled the ring onto her finger. It fit perfectly, which surprised him. He stood up and gave Hermione a hug and a romantic kiss as the other few people in the small restraunt cheered for them. He helped her back into her seat before sitting down himself. “Now you can eat” he said, smiling largely at her. He felt the sweat on the back of his neck dry off and his body temperature lower drastically as he has done what he was so nervous to do. He took a deep breath before enjoying his ice cream and chocolate sauce. The server came around one more time to congratulate the new couple and to give Ron the bill. “Dessert’s on me” she whispered to him, “Congratulations.” Ron nodded at her and whispered “Thanks” before paying for the meal and helping Hermione out of her seat once again. “I think we’re ready to go home” he said to her. He gave her one more kiss and walked out of the restraunt with her, hand in hand. They apparated back to the Burrow but weren’t ready to go back in yet. They decided to take a walk around the fields a bit before going in. “Where did you get it?” Hermione asked Ron, looking at her ring in the moonlight. She knew Ron wouldn’t be able to afford a ring on his own, no matter how long her saved his money for. “It was my grand mother’s ring. I asked mum for it and she knew how special it would be to me, so she gave it to me. And besides, she loves you like a daughter, so she was glad to know that you would be wearing it. She’s probably waiting inside for us to come in to see how things went.” Ron explained. He stopped walking for a moment and turned to Hermione. “I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you” he said to her, smiling, before romantically kissing her. Hermione kissed Ron back, glad to be on the path to spending the rest of her life with him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him. “I love you” she whispered in his ear before kissing him again. Ron hugged Hermione. “I love you too,” he said. He picked her up and carried him back home in his arms, placing her on the front step before opening the door, not knowing that he was going to get a huge surprise. “SURPRISE!” shouted at least ten voices. “CONGRATULATIONS RON AND HERMIONE!” The couple was greeted by what seemed like thousands of hugs. Hermione felt lost in a sea of red hair. The entire Weasley family had shown up along with Fleur and Harry, all to celebrate the coming together of Ron and Hermione, who was now crying tears of joy. Harry walked over to Ron and gave him a hug. “It feels weird, my best mates getting married.” He smiled and hugged Ron again before moving onto hug Hermione as well. “Congratulations you two!” he said before handing them both butterbeers that were first handed to him. He called around the room for silence. “I’d like to propose a toast” he said, “To Ron and Hermione, may they have a happy life together.” He drank deeply from his bottle of butterbeer and invited everyone else to do the same. The rest of the night went by quickly, as it was already late. It didn’t officially end, however, until Hermione fell asleep in a chair and nearly spilled butterbeer all over her dress. Ron grabbed the bottle before quietly saying goodnight to everyone. He turned to his mother and asked “Mum, what should I do about Hermione?” “Just leave her there. If she wakes up at least she’ll know where she is, I hope.” Mrs. Weasley said chuickling slightly. She hugged her son one last time before walking up the stairs to her bedroom. Ron stood there smiling softly looking at his fiancée. He figured that even though his mother wanted him to leave her there, he couldn’t. He knelt down next to the chair she was sitting in and whispered in her ear “Hermione, baby, wake up” while gently rubbing her arm. Hermione slowly opened her eyes and looked around the room sleepily. “Where am I?” she asked, looking at Ron. She then woke up a bit more and realized where she was. She smiled at Ron. “How late is it?” she asked him. “Sweetie, it’s late, and you should probably change out of that dress.” Ron said, helping Hermione to her feet. The two of them walked up the stairs to Ginny’s room where Hermione borrowed some of Ginny’s clothes to wear to bed and proceeded up to Ron’s bedroom to sleep. leave me some feedback please? I'll love you forever!

Re: Without Love
Ch. 5
Harry awoke the morning after the party groggy and still rather tired. He glanced at his watch which told him that it was already 12:30 in the afternoon. He groaned, rolled over, and was about to fall back asleep when he heard what woke him up in the first place, his snowy owl, Hedwig, tapping on his window. He slowly got up and reached to open the window. Hedwig flew in and landed gracefully upon the post of his bed. He untied the letter, where he immediately recognized Ginny’s writing, and opened it to read it. Dear Harry, I got your letter. Everything here at school is fine. Everyone keeps talking about you and how you Saved them all from You-Know-Who. It feels kind Of like an honor to know that I’m dating the man They all talk about. I’ll keep you posted on my Classes as the year goes on. Love always, Ginny P.S. Hagrid says to tell you hi. Harry smiled, he was glad to hear from Ginny. He sat on his bed for a moment reading the letter over and over, though it was short and didn’t have much meaning. He placed the letter on his bedside table and got up to go and take a shower. Exiting the shower, he walked back into his room and dressed quickly, not bothering to try and tame his messy hair. He proceeded downstairs to the kitchen where Mrs. Weasley was already working on lunch. “It’s about time you woke up” Mrs. Weasley said to Harry, “I was just about to send Ron up to get you. Breakfast is already done but I’ll have lunch ready in a few moments.” She waved her wand and the remainder of the sandwiches which made themselves and magically flew to the table. Harry, who just noticed Ron and Hermione sitting at the table, bid the couple a good morning, though it was well past morning already. He picked up a turkey and cheese sandwich and ate happily, thinking about Ginny and what she was doing at that moment. Hermione looked at Harry’s face which looked rather funny; a mix of happiness, dreaminess, and sadness all in one. It made her chuckle which caught the attention of everyone at the table except for Harry. She pointed at Harry’s face and everyone else at the table laughed. The rest of the year, while Ginny was in school, continued on like this generally for Harry, except that now the letters from Ginny were becoming increasingly few and far between, though they were longer as well. Finally came the day when Ginny would be arriving home for the winter holidays. Harry couldn’t be more excited. He woke early that morning and was unable to fall back asleep so he paced his room for a few minutes before giving up on the room and walking into the living room one floor below. He sunk into the couch in front of the remaining embers of the roaring fire from the previous night. Though they didn’t give off light, the embers gave off a soft comforting heat which lulled Harry back to sleep only to be rudely awoken by the bickering of Ron and Hermione. “But why can’t we just have it here?” Ron bellowed for what he felt was the millionth time that day. He wanted to have the wedding, which would be taking place the following spring, at the Burrow while Hermione wanted to have it at an expensive hall. “We can’t afford a hall and we could probably fit more people in the garden than in any Muggle hall.” “But my parents could pay for the hall” Hermione bellowed back, “and we can cast enlargement charms around the place to fit more people.” She sat down in a chair and placed her head in her hands, getting fed up. Looking up she saw Harry was awake. “Oh Harry, sorry, did we wake you?” she asked, her voice calmer towards Harry. Harry nodded sleepily as he rubbed his eyes. The heat had been so nice though it was gone now. “What are you two bickering about now?” he asked. Ron and Hermione had been arguing over almost every detail about the wedding and almost always ended up asking Harry to decide for them. He had mentally decided that it was just practice for his wedding and that his would end up being exactly the same as Ron and Hermione’s, only his wouldn’t be for a while now. There was a knock on the door and it swung open, letting in massive amounts of cold wintry air along with a few snowflakes. A cold looking Ginny entered the house dragging her trunk behind her, closely followed by her father, who both had snowflakes scattered throughout their flaming red hair. Harry jumped up from the couch and walked over to Ginny. He took her trunk from her and leaned it up against a wall before wrapping one of his arms around her waist, pulling her close. “I’ve missed you” he whispered to her as he brushed snow out of her hair. He kissed her gently before letting her go. He picked up her trunk and was about to carry it up to her bedroom when he turned around and said to Ron and Hermione “Whatever it was you wanted to ask me, you can ask me when I come back.” He put Ginny’s trunk in her room and walked back down the stairs to Ron and Hermione. “Now what was going on?” Hermione laughed at Harry, he was so eager to help out with their wedding that she often wondered if he was thinking it was his or theirs. “Where do you think me and Ron should have the wedding?” she asked him, “Here or rent out a hall and have it there?” Harry pondered this thought for a moment before saying “Here,” much to Ron’s delight. He saw Hermione’s face fall and said “But listen to why.” She looked up. “If you have it at a hall then you have to worry about more Muggles finding things they shouldn’t than you already will be having at the wedding. If you have it here, then all you have to do is worry about the Muggles who don’t already know you’re magical, right?” Hermione sighed. “I suppose you’re right” she said. She stood up and walked over to Ron, saying “You win… this time.” She smiled up at him and gently kissed him before going back into the kitchen to continue with the plans, leaving Ginny and Harry alone in the living room. Ginny hugged Harry. “I missed you so much” she said to him. She looked up at him, smiling. Harry wrapped his arms around Ginny’s waist and held her close. “I missed you too” he whispered before kissing her. He hugger her again before letting her go and said “Let’s go into the kitchen, I think your mum has lunch cooking.” The couple proceeded into the kitchen where they sat down to a huge lunch of sandwiches, soups, and brownies for dessert. They ate happily while Ginny was questioned about her 7th year and her N.E.W.T.S. The night went on with a few more arguments from Ron and Hermione, though Harry ignored them when they asked him anything. He was too focused on being with Ginny. I had some serious writers block during this chapter, so I'm sorry if it's not that good. Please leave feedback anyway! ![]()

Re: Without Love
Ch. 6
Harry awoke on Christmas morning to the smells of a turkey roasting and other types of food being prepared. He yawned widely, as him and Ginny had been up late the previous night talking. The two of them had fallen asleep again. He gently kissed her neck in various places to wake her up. “Ginny, honey” he whispered in her ear, “It’s Christmas morning, you need to get up.” Ginny slowly woke up. It didn’t register with her that Harry was talking to her and she thought it was Ron, who would normally wake her up. “No, Ron, 5 more minutes.” She groaned before rolling over, to see Harry smiling at her. “Oh…” she said, her face turning red, “Sorry.” “It’s perfectly fine, Harry said, smiling. He lifted her chin and kissed her. “Happy Christmas” he whispered. Ginny smiled at him and kissed him back. “Happy Christmas to you too,” she said. She slowly sat up, trying to wake herself up. He heard Harry chuckle from behind her and looked in the mirror that was across from the room. She had bed head that was to rival Harry’s. She ran her fingers through her hair a bit and fixed it before turning to Harry and ruffling his hair, which was just as good as trying to tame it. She got out of bed and pulled Harry along with her. “Come on Harry” she said, now realizing it was Christmas, “Let’s get downstairs!” They left her room and went into the living room where much of the family was already opening presents, except for Ron and Hermione. They sat down on a couch and were each passed a small stack of presents. Harry received a Weasley jumper, as usual, and a small block of fudge from Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, a book from Hermione entitled “the Rise, Fall and Rise Again of Evil in the Wizarding World,” a box of something explosive looking from Fred and George, a Quidditch poster from Ron, and from Ginny a photo of then that Collin Creevy, a boy in her year, had taken in Harry’s third year. He went around and thanked everyone who had given him something, except for Ron and Hermione because they were still upstairs. He got around to Ginny and said “Thanks, sweetie, that was really thoughtful,” before kissing her gently on her cheek. Ginny hugged Harry before delving into her own pile of gifts. She saw one with a single red rose atop it and assumed it was from Harry. She picked it up and slipped the rose out of the wrapping. She held a small wrapped package in the palm of her hand, small enough to fit in her pocket. She peeled off the wrapping to reveal a tiny black box. Upon opening this box she saw a beautiful pink diamond ring. She turned to Harry, a shocked look on her face, speechless. Harry took the box from her, slid off of the couch and onto his knee. He held the ring up to Ginny and asked “Ginny, will you Marry me?” Ginny nodded, still speechless, tears now forming in her eyes. She hadn’t suspected anything. She was sp surprised and yet so happy at the same time. She let Harry slide the ring onto her finger and slid off the couch herself to hug Harry. “I love you” she finally managed to say. Harry smiled at her. “I love you too, Ginny.” He gave her another hug before sitting back on the couch and pulling Ginny into his lap as she opened the rest of her gifts. After they were done opening their gifts, the Weasley family went into the kitchen to eat Christmas lunch and to celebrate the engagement of Harry and Ginny. Mrs. Weasley kept saying “All of my babies are growing up and getting married. It’s only a matter of time before I become a grandma.” The rest of the night continued with family games such as Fred and George chasing Percy, another one of Ron’s brothers, around the room trying to squeeze his Weasley jumper on. The family stayed up until late in the night talking, discussing plans for the future, and sharing old memories. They all dispersed to their respective bedrooms for a well deserved night’s sleep, not knowing that in the morning, there would be a scream to wake them all. Ooh, cliffhanger *creepy music* I know it was short, but I accomplished what I wanted too. yeah, there's a lot of romantic stuff, but that's about to all change. Please leave feedback!

Re: Without Love
Okay, I kno I kept making promises for posting but, as I expected, Ch. 7 wasn't done today. This is all I have for now, I'll post more later. I'm really sorry about the crazily long delay. Please have mercy on me, forgive me!
Ch. 7 Hermione snuck into Ginny’s bedroom the next morning, early. She was glad to see Harry wasn’t in there because she needed to talk to Ginny alone and since the two were always together; this seemed like the next time to talk to Ginny. She walked over to the bed and gently shook her friend. Before she could get Ginny up, however, she sprinted out of the room and into the washroom where she spectacularly vomited into the toilet. Ginny had been slightly awoken, enough to begin the ever annoying process of opening her eyes. She opened them enough to see Hermione run out of the room. She sleepily got out of bed and followed the sounds Hermione was making. “Is everything okay?” she asked sleepily, crouching next to Hermione. “No,” Hermione said, coughing, “This has been happening for the past week or so. Ginny, I think I’m pregnant.” She sighed and sunk back onto the floor. Ginny pulled Hermione into a sisterly hug. “It’s okay,” she said comfortingly, “Everything will be alright. I can run out and get you a Muggle test if need be.” She added. Hermione nodded. She needed some form or clarification that this was the real thing and not just a bad bout of food poisoning. “Could you go later tonight when everyone’s sleeping?” she asked, “That way no one will know yet.” Ginny shook her head, not trusting herself to fall asleep alone. “I’ll go now,” she said before apparating on the spot to the nearest Muggle drug store. Lying on the floor of the washroom, worried, Hermione silently cried. She didn’t know what to do. She didn’t want to be pregnant, at least not yet. The wedding hadn’t yet happened, and she knew that she wouldn’t be able to support a baby financially yet. Ginny reappeared moments later holding a brown paper bag. She handed the bag to Hermione before saying “Here, I’ll go wait in my room so you can take care of whatever you need to, there’s directions on the box. Take your time.” And with that she walked out of the washroom and into her bedroom. She sat there in complete silence scared for her friend. She closed her eyes and, forgetting about Hermione, fell into deep thought about her future with Harry. Her thoughts, however pleasant they were, were rudely interrupted by an ear piercingly loud scream that would have woken the pigs in the pig pen outside. Hermione cane running into Ginny’s bedroom looking panicked. “Ginny, I’m pregnant” she said, sounding scared. “I don’t have the time, the money, or even a house to raise a baby!” she said then heard feet running from nearly every room in the house and realized what she had done. “Ginny, I’m not ready to tell anyone yet!” As she finished saying this, Ron scurried into the room looking worried. “Hermione is everything okay?” he asked her. She never acted like this and that worried him. Hermione glanced at Ginny, whose eyes said “You have to tell him.” She took a few breaths to calm herself down before taking a deep one and saying to Ron, without looking him in the eyes, “You’re going to be a daddy in nine month’s time.” Ron’s jaw dropped, looking like it was going to fall past his chest right through the floor. “But… but… how?” he stammered, unsure of the whole situation. There was no way he could be a father he hadn’t done any--. He cut his thoughts off, remembering a night about a month ago. “That’s how,” he thought to himself. “Oh Ron, don’t be so thick, you know exactly how babies are made,” Hermione said, rolling her eyes and turning around to look at him. “The proper question, I believe would be ‘When?’” She explained, feeling like she was back at Hogwarts, going over Ron’s homework. “I know I know how babies are made!” Ron retorted, feeling like his intelligence was being mocked. He pulled Hermione out into the hall to explain to her when he suspected this happened when Mrs. Weasley appeared from the door they were standing next to. He had forgotten to check if anyone was in there. “Did I just hear what I thought I heard?” Mrs. Weasley asked, sounding angered. “I better have not heard what I just heard or there’s going to be some issues that are going to upset the both of you.” Ron and Hermione tried to calmly explain to Mrs. Weasley what was going on and that they thought they were being safe but nothing was to budge Mrs. Weasley on her later decision that both Ron and Hermione were not allowed in the house until the wedding, and she wasn’t sure if she would even let them in then. “But mum!” Ron protested, “We’re going to be married soon enough! Why does it matter?” he was frustrated that he and his fiancé were being thrown out into the cold of the winter with no where to go. He was surprised that his mother could be so cruel and was contemplating this when his father appeared home from work. Mrs. Weasley angrily explained to Mr. Weasley what was going on, her face growing redder with ever second. It was only a matter of time before she exploded. Mr. Weasley got up and rubbed his wife’s back, trying to calm her down. Rom and Hermione stood there, waiting to see what his verdict would be. He waved them upstairs and mouthed, making sure Mrs. Weasley couldn’t see, “You can stay.” The couple ran quickly up to Ron’s room where Hermione immediately collapsed into his arms and began crying. “Ron?” she asked him, looking up at him with red eyes, “Do your parents hate me now?” This was her greatest fear, that his parents would stop liking her. Again, sorry! Please leave feedback anyway, and don;t be mad at me! *begs for forgiveness*

Re: Without Love
Okay, this is the ned of Chapter 7. It picks up ldirectly from where the last post left off.
“I’m sure they don’t sweetie,” Ron said to her sweetly, as he held her close. He gently rubbed her back in an effort to calm her down, not knowing what else to do. “Hey, baby? Why don’t we sit down?” he suggested. Hermione nodded and the two moved towards the bed. They sat down and Hermione wiped her eyes looking at Ron. “What do you think will happen?” she asked him, “Your mum seemed pretty angry.” Ron pulled Hermione into a hug. “It’ll all be okay, I promise” he said to her in a soothing voice. He gazed into her eyes and said “Okay?” Hermione nodded and gave Ron a passionate kiss. Pulling away she smiled into his eyes. “I love you so much” she said softly. Ron nodded. “I love you too, baby.” He said. “Baby...” The word stuck to him for some reason. Then it hit him. “Hermione…” he said softly, “I’m gong to be a daddy…” Hope you like it! I'll try and post a lot mroe now. ![]()
