If you look closely, you'll see that the reddish-brown walls, Cameron's hair, and similar sections of warm color remain intact, whereas areas with cool tones, such as the potted plants in the diagnostic room, are all in black-and-white. I can achieve a similar effect with my camera, although I'd never consider using it for any large section of film. I'm glad they dropped the wannabe-edgy look after that one episode, as I find it extremely distracting and it pulls me out of the story to a great extent.
Me too! That kind of was distracting after a bit there. And like you said, it pulls you out of the story, which isn't good at all. You want to be drawn into a show... not feel like you're on the outside looking in there.

Yes, exactly! The show's color palette as a whole has evolved drastically since Season One (all the way from a rather clinical-looking light blue/gray scheme to the muted browns and olives we have today) but at least it feels like all the shades are in their rightful place.

Yes it has. And for the most part they are . There are still times that the show gets on my nerves, but in the end, what show doesn't .

House -- he can be such a jerk sometimes, that it gets old . Not all the time though.

That's what I love about him. I wouldn't like someone like that in RL, but in movies/TV/books I love them.

Me too... up to a point . When he crosses that line from being a regular jerk to a king sized one... then I'm like -- 'not again...' -- and hope and pray that he goes back to being his usual regular jerk self.

Yeah, he has crossed the line a few times, but not many. I am usually amused by his jerkiness unless its unfairly directed at someone who loves him, like Wilson. I think I can count on one hand the times that I've thought, "That's just too far, House."

Ooh, same here. There've been a few (a very few) times when felt that I really couldn't forgive him for something he said or did; usually, as you pointed out, something thing directed at Wilson. They're few and far between, but they are there. But I suppose that when the whole premise of the show is that there's this guy who suffers from serial jerkiness, there's bound to be at least a few *facepalm* moments...

Maybe it's just because I love Wilson. He is such a great friend. I mean who else would put up with House and all of his antics? I wouldn't. You just can't help loving Wilson and feeling protective of him, I guess. I do think it's funny when House and Wilson punk each other--like when House did all of those pranks when Wilson had to move in with him or when House had those posters made of Wilson dressed as that woodland creature in that er, film he starred in. But when House is just plain mean to Wilson, I don't like it.

Yep. Me too on that one. But I hope that they don't make him have more of those over the top jerky moments... I really don't like those.

Same here. I adore Wilson, so that's probably why I get ... slightly irritated when House goes out of his way to abuse him.

House himself never annoys me. The show does, on occasion. Because the writers don't always deliver interesting stories and focus on melodrama instead. And House could do with less melodrama, especially within the team, in my view.

That's exactly how I feel as well. I was especially disappointed in the fourth and fifth seasons. The 6th seemed to have more focus and actual development - of House's character, no less. I personally found it very believable, save for some minor nuisances here and there in the form of cop-outs and rushed plotlines. I enjoyed this season more than the previous two, definitely (excluding Cameron and Chase's divorce).

Re: House M.D.

The convoluted personal drama to which the characters are subjected doesn't often annoy me, as the participants are (usually) well-drawn, interesting, and believable; and I actually tend to find the personal plots to be more gripping and compelling than the medical mysteries. It's in the latter area that the show does occasionally push believability, in my opinion. Generally the medical plots (while they probably wouldn't stand up to scrutiny from an actual doctor) seem logical enough, and I'm happy enough to watch them just for the sake of seeing the character drama enacted around them. (I'm firmly of the standpoint that the show, however it's billed on the networks, is a drama that simply uses the vehicle of the medical plots and hospital setting as a means to an end, and not the other way around, which it one of the things that helps me accept the sometimes-bizarre medical stories.) However, there have been a handful of times when the medical plot has been so bizarre and far-fetched that it's hard for me to suspend disbelief that far, and I find it difficult to believe that they actual have several doctors on the writing staff.

Those moments are the ones that bug me the most, because they make it difficult to enjoy an otherwise brilliant show. Granted, there have also been a few character plotlines that seemed a bit out-there, but, well... medicine is, for the most part, consistent and logical; and people are anything but.

See, I couldn't find it believable that Thirteen would fall for Foreman. Or that all women on House's team sooner or later pretend to see through him and become incarnations of Cameron. Or that Cameron herself would act out of character in the end and blame it all on House (because, apparently, she forgot everything she experienced in previous years just to pass judgement). Some of the relationships and the personal drama are extremely contrived, in my view.

Re: House M.D.

They showed another House marathon today this time with the one where Wilson takes House's guitar for ransom to try to blackmail House into hiring a new team. I love that one! He leaves the ransom note made from cut-out newspaper letters, then when House storms into his office, Wilson is innocently reading a cut up newspaper. I love how Wilson takes such glee in messing with House in this episode!

Re: House M.D.

Loved the preview for this upcoming season . They didn't show that much of it... but it looks like House will be distracted ... if you know what I mean .

Re: House M.D.

I never believed the Cameron and Chase relationship. I knew that all the time they spent together and the fact they were attracted to each other had to account for something, but I didn't see the compatibility at all.
