Re: Could Trevor be a Death Eater?

I think that if Trevor was a death eater, it would be a pretty boring book, just because Scabbers turned out to be Wormtail. Also I just can't see it happening. I've had animals before that have gotten lost easily. I also think that it fits well with Neville being a forgetful person and his pet having the same type of personality.

In honor of such an unusual theory, though, I've made you this: use it as you wish, tru0001.

Re: Could Trevor be a Death Eater?

Trevor is a normal toad.Besides,Wormtail already has the role of family pet turned animagus Death Eater occupied. The thought of an evil toad just isn't working.Brownie points for originality though.

That is hilarious

As far as the theory goes, though, I suppose that anything it possible. I do find it odd that Trevor shows up in the most unexpected spots, and I do think that there is more story to him.

Do you mean he's disappearing to pass on information? Not a bad thought.
Ok Trevor is Umbridge, Neville's uncle gave him his plant (can't remember the name properly sorry 'bout that) so that he would forget about Trevor so Umbridge could teach.

Oh and Umbridge is accutally Peter Petigrew's sister

(I am so sorry for actually putting this up on the thread it just seemed funny and I am trying not to do a assignment due at the end of the week )

Serious I think that we should put this one into the ever growing group of "possible, but not plausible" storylines

Re: Could Trevor be a Death Eater?

No. Trevor is a toad. Not an animagus. Not a Death Eater. He goes missing because he is a toad and probably not suited to being someone's pet. If Trevor was a Death Eater, what would he be doing in Hogwarts. JKR would not use the same storyline twice, that would just be rehashing the story, and would be disappointing to both her and her readers. Trevor is no more a Death Eater than Crookshanks, or Hedwig, or Pigwidgion. Peter Pettigrew is and will forever be the only animagus-pet-Death Eater

I think that would add a totally bizarre twist to the series! Amdillae_Culmet, I think that's REALLY weird, you know, the fact that Trevor is Umbridge *glares at pic of Umbridge in book* and that Neville's uncle gave her the Mimbulus Mimbletonia or whatever that was to keep Neville from noticing that Trevor had gone...huh.

I just don't want to believe that Albus Dumbledore had died. It's hard to believe that JKR had removed Dumbledore from the series.

I don't know, that plot device (the pet who turns out to be more than just a pet) may be done with...

Yes, I think it's a bit...I don't know how to describe it...It's getting a tad bit old if you ask me. I mean, next thing we know, Hedwig turns into Fenrir Greyback covered in feathers.

Re: Could Trevor be a Death Eater?

I think he's just a regular toad. Or, J.K. would of probably of had him show his human form.

Lord Voldemort must be getting pretty desperate if he's recruiting toads ...

Um, it was a joke, I agree that the idea that Trevor is a death eater is a bit over the top and the idea of the animagus being hidden I think has been used twice (For Pettigrew and Rita) and I think that could be enough.

Can I share Snape with you cos I think he would be yummy as a pet!!! Bring it on!!!
Oh and as for Tevor - well let's just bring in a pygmypuff DE next!!! would that be more plausible?
(Not being mean, I just think that idea's dead now)

Re: Could Trevor be a Death Eater?

What other clues do we have that Trevor could be a DE? If JKR wanted to do that subplot again, I think the most possible candidate would be Crookshanks and she's said time and again that Crookshanks is not an animagus.

Re: Could Trevor be a Death Eater?

I've heard some pretty out-there theories, but this one takes it. I laughed for about 5 minutes when I read it. I hope this was posted as a joke, because there is absolutely no chance that Trevor is a Death Eater. It makes absolutely no sense. Considering what happenned to the Longbottoms, I also highly doubt that Gran Longbottom wants Neville to be a Death Eater. I'm not trying to be mean, but there is just no evidence to support this theory.

Re: Could Trevor be a Death Eater?

I see (almost) no reason to believe why Trevor or his grandma would be on the wrong side. The only remote indication I have so far is that te sorting hat took a long time to decide in which house Neville should be placed. Which other options did he have? Surely not Ravenclaw or he must be the stereotype clumsy professor. Hufflepuf then? Most likely yes! But Slytherin is not excluded either since it would be a nice parallel to Harry.

But now I have to bang my own head between the oven door for having said that Slytherin people are bad and other people are good... It's never that black white.

Poor Neville would have been eaten alive in Slytherin!
