Mostly D, although some wizards do C. I would be okay with B too, but definitely not A.
Oh, and I wanted to say that I can't believe I understood what Harvey said about retrotemporality.

Well, Harvey's a pretty mysterious customer, isn't he? He doesn't like to explain himself, obviously.

I suppose the retrotemporality thing means that if you're living backwards in time, anything you touch (such as your clothing) goes backwards in time with you, as long as you're touching it. Of course, I may be wrong.

PS, though my vote doesn't count, I would personally vote for "D" in the survey.

Re: TMQ104 -- Vitis Leprosa

Just wondering, but why doesn't your vote count Fish?

I agree, I think D would be likely. It is sort of like what my religion has. There is a congregation in the next city for deaf people. Deaf church members come from many areas so that they can attend church along with others who speak, or sign, the same language. They would have a religion that they grew up with, either the normal "wizard" religion that the early purebloods practiced, or the "muggle" religion that muggleborns or those who are decended from muggleborns practice. Then, whatever religion they are in, they would establish a congregation.
.... I don't know why I explained all that pointlessness, but I am board, so, yeah.

Hmmm... the house elf one is tricky, I'll have to think about it.

My vote doesn't count because I set the survey questions. It's probably not even appropriate for me to hint at how I'd like it to turn out, but I wanted to make sure my position was clear (in case my editorials haven't already made it clear enough). I'll go with whatever the majority says though.

Re: TMQ104 -- Vitis Leprosa

I think D most probable, with some taking option C if they have many muggle friends or family with whom they wish to maintain fellowship.
Am a bit at sea as to how such subservient critters as house elves should end up in a duel, but should such a thing occur, obviously the things they handle in their daily domestic labors would come into play. Pots and crockery, table lamps and perhaps small pieces of furniture would be smashed with levitation and throwing spells. Some interesting use of cleaning formulas and spells could occur. For instance, could you (mis)use a cleaning spell to remove someone's ear hair or eyebrows? Perhaps the spell that beats out the rug could make the rug also wallop the opponent. For the final insult, you could order someone's dish towel to the laundry...

First of all, congratulations on yet another installment of the Magic Quill!
C for the survey
I imagine a house elf fight would be quite funny to onlookers: cauldrons flying, food spilled and thrown, pops of apparations as they land behind their opponent to grab their ears from behind, charming wooden spoons to bash the opponent on the nose and let's not forget where they levitate each other at the same time and their tea towels fall off leaving their tiny bodies in plain sight for everyone to see.

D is defenitely the answer. I think that, just like everyone, wizards need religion, or some kind of religious figure, but itīs such a close world that they just donīt mix with everybody!

In a duel between two house-elves probably they would drive each other crazy: disappearing and then appearing behind the other, cauldrons, pans, food or pieces of forniture and levitating spells would be all over the place... and they would torn verbaly each other into pieces... screaming and running to get oneīs hands (er.... curses) on the other

Re: TMQ104 -- Vitis Leprosa

(D) Witches and wizards can belong to any religion, but they generally limit themselves to all-magical congregations.
And each religion's magical congregation has a magical world version of the muggle scriptures/sacred texts typically associated with that religion.

Contest:
Describe something that might happen in a duel between two house-elves.

I thought it was illegal for house-elves to magically duel each other because they're considered property, and dueling - or any use of magic against each other - might result in permanent damage to said property.

But what if the house-elves were dueling to protect their masters, who were also dueling?

And don't forget the fight between Dobby and Kreacher in HBP; Elf Tails! Just because they aren't allowed to fight doesn't mean they don't. They will just have to punish themselves afterwards.

I will have to go with D.
As far as the house elves duel goes, fireworks!

D or C

well hmm.. houseelf fights would be interesting to watch, i can imagine like an army of charmed kitchen appliances- forks, spoons, knives, plates, toaster, oven, sink; versus the league of animated washing tools - mops, brooms, buckets, duster, dustpan, dustbin, brush, sponge(bob), taps, soapbars. And when all else fails, the good old fist fight is good enough.

Sorry, Chapter 106 was written (but not posted) before your submission, _houdini. Another apology to everyone - but the results of this week's Survey couldn't fit into the story of #106, so they will be combined with the winning answers for the following week. Thanks for all the ideas!
